For most of my one off heat press vinyl projects, I've just used a traditional iron and it would work but took a great deal more time and energy. I needed something that provided better results for a larger project and this worked great! I'm not a regular heat press vinyl user so it will most likely work for me. The heating is consistent and the press surface is perfectly smooth and consistently hot. I have been crafting for a few years now and been using a standard iron to heat press shirts and what not. I was always too cheap to buy the bigger machines so I stuck with the iron. I haven't had my cricut long and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a press until I knew this was going to be something I used often so I opted for this small handheld press. It has worked wonderfully for me, but the small size does take longer to press an adult sized shirt, so I'll be getting a bigger one soon. This one will still get used often for all the baby clothes I've been designing. Anyone who creates with vinyl will need a press this size, so if you're just getting started, you won't regret this purchase. It will last you a long time! ... show more

This is a small heat press, but very manageable and easy to use. It is designed to be used on many different products. The table in the directions give very good instructions on what heat setting to use, how long to use the press, and whether it is a cool or warm peel at the end. It is a very safe design, as it automatically shuts off after it hasn't been in use. The indicator lights are very easy to see, they are lit red when warming up and turn green when ready to use. There are three heat settings to use depending upon what material you are using. Very easy to use and would be a fun addition to any crafter's supplies. It comes with some designs you can use, which was a plus I didn't realize. It also comes with a heat press mat and teflon paper to use over top of the design while heating. I applied one image to cardstock to make a card. Worked perfectly. (See second picture.) ... show more
