Purchased this and discovered that it does not plug into regular rechargeable batteries. Had to purchase a special battery for it. (WhichDoes not fit in zippered compartment). Even after purchasing specified battery, it turned on, but shut off. Tried again, button just flashes. Later, same thing. Just doesn't work. Out over $100...... for a little blanket. Hence the negative review, hope no one else gets suckered in...... Amazon should quit selling for this item if a message now comes up that it has many negative reviews!! ... show more

    • It doesn’t get as hot as a regular electric blanket
I bought this blanket after my family’s house burned down due to an electric blanket (not this brand!) which was left plugged into the wall socket but turned off. The switch shorted out and caught the blanket on fire. I bought this product because it would be plugged into a battery power source and I could remove the power source after every use. (I’m a little skittish about electric blankets now.) I tried this many times but the blanket never seemed to get hot, not even very warm at all. It had to be on for a long time before I felt anything other than what I considered to be my own ambient heat. (Maybe that is part of why regular electric blankets are so dangerous—they can get to a very high heat quickly?) —But this blanket can’t seem to do that. The fleece side of the blanket is very soft, and the opposite side is nylon, like a sturdier camping fabric. Overall it’s well-made and has a decent drape and weight. It’s lap-blanket size, not very large. Functionally it’s easy to use and I do like that it can be used with a battery power source—I looked a long time to find a blanket like that. I like this blanket overall but I really wish it could get hotter. ... show more

Do NOT buy this product, it is a waste of money. The blanket doesn’t come with a battery so you have to spend even more to get it work. After realizing that and purchasing the correct battery pack it still doesn’t heat up and now I’m outside of the return window. Even if it did work, the pouch to store the portable battery is tiny and won’t fit any portable battery, so it hangs out of the blanket. Not easy to use, bad quality material and an overall loss. ... show more
