Seems to work as it should and cheaper than HF. Leveling it is easy enough. Placing the top onto the base can be a pain as you have to get it exactly rite, close wont work. Hard to use on large center hole wheels because they will not self center as the taper isn't big enough (truck wheels with 4-7/8 hole)

I think most people who have problems with this aren’t 1) Making sure the nut holding the rod is tight, 2) making sure the floor the balancer is set on is level (most important), or 3) not using the screws for FINE adjustment during set up. I have gotten consistent reproducible results as long as I do these things each time I use it.

Tried to balance 6 tires on it, bubble stayed in the middle, after spinning and pushing on the tires to see if it would settle outside. All 6 wound up being out of whack after I took it to my friends ACTUAL balancing machine. I didnt think you had to break these things in but it def didnt work out of the box.

Although it serves it's purpose, it is not accurate unless you modify the unit. Once assembled, the unit stops with the bubble in different locations every time. it seems that when they drill the center hole that the needle point rests on, the hole is drilled too deep and the tip of the needle does not balance the unit. I had to drill with a bigger drill bit to compensate for the original hole being too deep. By making the original hole more shallow, it allows the tip of the needle to actually let the unit balance without the sides of the needle tip bring the unit to a stop. Now when I try to read the bubble, it takes a while for the balance to level out and stop, making the bubble balancer more accurate since the sides of the needle point are no longer causing friction (static interference).
