Best choice I've made in years.
I've been living with window ACs for most of my life, and we never could afford to replace them regularly, so we kept the same one for decades. My 12 yr old AC tanked last summer, and I didn't have the money to replace it until this year. I probably could have found a decent window AC for a lower price, but I've been dealing with some pretty major health issues for the last few years, and our heating cost skyrocketed because I couldn't get it out of the window without passing out. I decided to get a "portable" AC this time to make things easier on me. It was an amazing decision. It's not very quiet (probably around what you'd expect from a window AC if you've ever had one), but that isn't really a downside for me, as it's still quieter than my last one. It took a while to get the tube attached at the back because of how my hands shake, and it came undone like six times before I caved and asked a family member to reattach it for me, and I haven't had a single issue with it so far (it fell out around twice a week before, and I haven't had anything happen in over two weeks now). It cools very quickly and keeps things cold once it hits there. It automatically stops and starts to maintain the room's temperature, and I can't really speak for how well it does that (my internal thermometer is nonexistent), I can say that it kicks off on cooler days and runs almost nonstop on really hot ones. It's also not very portable as it's attached to the tube that leads out the window, but it's better than nothing, and you can point it in a larger range of directions (if you're at the kitchen table and get up to cook you can completely turn the unit without having to take it out of the window). It has small handles on the side that are helpful while moving it, too, even if they aren't good for actually carrying it. The fan and dehumidifier modes are quieter than the regular AC, but still aren't particularly quiet. I don't use the fan very much on its own, but when I tested it it worked fairly well. When the AC is cool enough, it also goes from AC mode to just fan for a little while before shutting off the whole system. I haven't really used the dehumidifier at all because my body does significantly better with humid air, but if it works as well as the rest of the machine, I don't see anything going wrong with it. The remote is a little annoying because I have a hard time keeping track of it, and it needs to be pointed at the unit (think tv remote); it's a lot easier than risking passing out trying to counteract a hot or cold flash by changing it manually. Overall I think this is a good buy for anyone, but especially if you struggle with changing settings on an AC without a remote or can't handle the labor required to move a window AC unit every season. ... show more

Works
This unit is very small and light weight but it did the job! My 4 star rating is because the drainage hose is super short, we had to make shift another hose to reach the window to drain the water. Also, the electrical cord is so short that if you don’t have an outlet near your window you’re out of luck! But, it does work! ... show more

Poor instructions for using the machine.
Puts out good cold air. You can barely read the top buttons on the machine itself.

Better flexible vent
Took some doing to get a window this would fit right in , live in a 5th wheel and options are few, it would of been better with a more flexible vent hose. But is working great.

I would not recommend this air conditioner if it is going to be used in a home. The vent that goes to the windows is very big very hard plastic and very much in the way. It’s only cools in one direction as crazy as that sounds. And very loud, it had to go back it was horrible!

Great Product, at a Amazing Price
This was truly a life saver, for my sons room. Their window air conditioner wasn’t cutting it, and was an eyesore, on top of that. Once we purchased this amazing air conditioner, his room felt Bally stays cool, even on the hottest (been around a 100° on and off) days. My sons room is approximately 200 ft.², and this has no problem, keeping their room at a comfortable 65°. I honestly had my doubts about this ac, as the price was too hard to believe, but I’m a believer now, and I hope my review helps someone else out, during the hot summer. Wish it came with a few things..
I wish this unit came with some foam for sealing the window around it, and the other major qualm I have is that it didn't come with batteries for the remote. otherwise time will tell how the unit works, far as I can tell it works as expected.
