I purchased this as a gift, and the recipient was more than pleased! Assembly was very easy. I had to sand a few rough spots and splintered holes in the pieces that were already assembled prior to staining, but that's to be expected in the finishing work of any project. The cup holders are optional, but they're a great feature should you choose to include them. Everything is sturdy, and this piece has gotten a lot of love since it was installed a month or so ago. The dimensions were plainly stated, so this isn't a gripe, but if you sit in this together with another adult you better know 'em pretty well - can be potentially cozy unless you are small in frame. Overall, well worth the purchase!

VERY WELL CONSTRUCTED AND THOUGHT THROUGH. I was very pleased about the quality and ease of assembly. Fyi if your building a frame like I did get Alaskan yellow cedar. It's a perfect match color wise. I gave 4 stars for comfort because of course it's made of wood and cushions are recommend. But I would trade well made and lasting quality over a hard seat any day.

Sitting in the swing prior to the cushion was good. Of course adding the cushion (purchased separately) made a big improvement. The big issue is, when you add the cushion, the seat depth is the straw that broke the camel's back. It is just not deep enough for more than 15 minutes of actual use of the swing. This was a long thought out process of buying a lifetime swing to hang on my covered deck. I was so looking forward to relaxing for an hour or so at a time on a regular basis for the rest of my life enjoying the fruits of my labors. I love the swing and construction and was happy to pay the extra high cost. Unfortunately I wish the designers had put a little more thought and a couple more inches into the actual swing. (Deep sad sigh)
