    • UPDATED! Even more good stuff! It won me over!
UPDATE! I have discovered yet another great use for my Popurs. As rescuers we often have cats that need to stay in kennels for short periods, where they can't access the Popurs or other robots Since we hate scooping (the reason for buying automatic litter boxes) this is an ugly situation. What I do now is make sure that one of my Popurs isn't completely full and I'll remove the small litter box from the kennel and dump the whole thing into my Popur. The Popur does the cleaning for me and I just replace a small amount of litter in the kennel litter box. Since the opening on the Popur is so much larger and easy to access than my other robots, it's very simple to dump the litter in there, as opposed to the front loading robots. What a gift this is! I recently ordered the optional plastic waste bin which I thought was overpriced. However, on receiving this my opinion has changed. The bin is exceptionally sturdy and well made. It is not your typical thin plastic accessory, but a substantial add-on. I'm very pleased. Having used the the Popur for a few more weeks now, it has quickly become a favorite for myself and my foster kittens. I absolutely love, love, love the fact that I am not having to empty and top off litter every single day. I love the curious cat feature, a blessing when you have multiple kittens who think it is a big toy. I'm going to order another one to introduce my own, adult cats! As a rescuer and foster mom I own five of the most popular brand of robot litter boxes. After dealing with multiple sensor issues I decided to try different brands. The first two I tried were not satisfactory (returned) and then I ordered the Popur and I fell back in love with an automatic litter box again. The things that I like best about the Popur are; Lower entry which allows smaller kittens to easily use the box. I have foster kittens 6 weeks old who immediately began using the Popur because it was more accessible. Better fence. The fence that prevents litter from being kicked out is more sturdy and doesn't get kicked out of place by the larger cats. I love, love, LOVE that it holds a full 35 lb pail of litter so I don't have to keep refilling it in scoops every day. With five robots that was a full-time job. Really like the leveling feature which makes for a smooth clean surface each time it cycles. Odor control - because the dirty litter is fully contained in the waste bin there is very little odor that escapes. NO SENSOR FAILURES. While relatively new I have not experienced any sensor failures. The more popular robot tells you not to let your cats jump on the hood because it will trigger the sensor that says a cat is in the box and the robot stops mid cycle. I haven't figured out how you're supposed to stop the cats from jumping up there but I do know with the Popur it does not affect the performance. As soon as it starts to cycle they jump off. The only things I do not like about the Popur is the lack of an extended warranty and the larger footprint, which takes up more floor space. However it is that larger footprint that makes it possible to have all the features I love so I will figure out how to make it work. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another! ... show more

I was super hyped to get this litter box, and it came in the mail 6 months ago... First, the box is huge. And heavy. Be prepared for this! Because of the weight, I was unable to bring it upstairs until I was no longer pregnant and had fully recovered from surgery. (I asked my husband to do it, but he forgot about it on a regular basis. The box was instead used as a table in the hallway for 6 months.) We just recently acquired a new kitten and I decided to finally get this box up and running. WHY DID I EVER WAIT? I should have threatened my husband with divorce if he didn't bring it upstairs! But that's the past, I guess... It was a super easy setup (plug and play). The hardest part was assembling the cardboard bin (easy). Dumped a bunch of pretty litter in and had my new kitten use it! Bonus: it scares my toddler, so he doesn't touch it when it's in motion. It worked perfectly! It levels the litter well and the smell isn't bad at all. My husband swears he can smell it, but I can't. Pretty sure he's just upset it's in our bathroom. :) It will get some of the wet peed upon pretty litter during its cycle, which is another bonus as pretty litter doesn't clump. We have had no issues with it's mechanism and even my fat 17 lb cat looks small next to it (pictured). We have a Maine coon kitty now, so I'm excited to see her grow with it. No more scooping litter for me! I have an order on the way for the new plastic bin and a ramp to help with litter scatter. I have had a first generation litter robot, which was my favorite litter box until this one! I also use the scoopfree litter box, which I don't hate but don't love. The popur, though, is awesome. I love it! It does take up a lot of space, but it's honestly worth it. I would place this on an easy to clean plastic or washable rug just in case the hinge mechanism stops working or you forget to clean the bin out before it gets full, but that's just common sense for any litter box, honestly! As an aside, I accidentally placed a duplicate order on their website and a customer service agent texted me overnight asking if it was on purpose. It wasn't.
