    • Buyer beware poor design, not good for multiple cats

We purchased this litter robot in January 2024 after debating mainly due to the high cost. We have 4 cats, 2 adult and 2 kittens. Discovered today that the box will cycle with the clean out/collection tray removed causing litter/waste to be dumped inside the box. The Compartment where the bag goes is far too small which causes the litter to collect on the edges of the bag defeating the purpose of being able to pull the bag out without causing any mess. There is plenty of room for a better design (the box is huge) just poor engineering. Litter sticks to rubber despite using the most expensive "non-stick" litter available. Despite not much odor when the tray is full, the tray itself is very small in my opinion so even if you wanted to go away for the weekend, in my case it wouldn't last 2 days before stopping because it's "full". So the only positive I can say is there isn't much odor, comparable to other boxes, and no scooping. But cleaning this box is going to be 100x more time consuming than any other box. Bottom line I would not buy this again for a home with this many cats. We had/have a rack type box before this with crystal litter that they track very little litter, with this one (even with the mat accessory) we have to vacuum every day several feet around the box. For the cost this should have been designed a lot better. UPDATE. As I have used more, it's worse than I thought. Constant "Blue light of death", buttons will not reset, cycle or anything nor will a hard reset (pwr off or unplug) to reset. You are virtually at it's mercy. The box for this was huge, at first when I saw it on my porch, I thought it could've been a small refrigerator. Getting it set up was pretty complicated, I don't think the directions were that clear. I never really managed to get the app set up on my phone. I feel like this product is a little complicated to get accustomed what the various combinations of lights mean. It still works if it’s not connected to wifi. But it will seriously never connect. This happens to all my friends with this product. Overpriced for the over promised technology. But it’s still an awesome product and keeps the smell contained. I’d still recommend to friends but warn them about the WiFi issues. ... show more
