Worth it. As others have stated I followed YouTube videos for install. I’m fairly inexperienced with car work, but this was simply plug n play. You do need some tools to access the truck lock, but once that’s open everything you need is in the kit. I’ve had it installed for about a month and had no issues. I’ve heard horror stories of tailgates being stolen and this gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing my tailgate is locked when I hit lock on my Key FOB. The hardest part of the install as everyone else said is feeding the wire along the bottom. A little time consuming but doable! Worth a purchase 100%

Love it, was fairly easy to install. About 2 hours taking my time. I recently had my tailgate stolen because I forgot to lock it. That taught me a lesson. Friend told me about Pop and Lock. One thing I never forget to do though, is lock the truck with the remote. Now, ...lock, unlock with the remote. Problem solved.

Installed on an Gen 3 Toyota Tacoma 2023 off-road model double cab. Installation went ok, the only issue was the long feed wire up to the cab to the kick panel area on the drivers side where the connections are made. There is a rubber grommet that I sliced a small hole in and fed the cable through it. However I did not realize that you will have to drill a hole through the floorboard. (Metal pan really) when I removed the grommet there is no way to feed the cable directly into the cab without drilling a hole. I used a flash light to see if hole was offset. I used a 3/8 drill bit and reamed it slightly to allow the cable to clear and fed it into the cab. I cleaned up the debris and sprayed the area on both sides with fluid film to prevent any rusting. Ran the wire to the provided connector and tested before I buttoned everything up. I also used a fish to run the cable from the rear tire area to the rear area of the cab where the gas tank is located near the frame to make things easier. Other than those two things the videos I watched on YouTube were somewhat helpful. So make sure you have a 3/8 metal drill bit and some rust proofing material to get the cable into the drivers floor board area. And a small snake to pull the cable over the gas tank along the frame on the drivers side. Works great nice to know the tailgate is locked when you lock your truck!

I have been looking for a remote locker for my 23 Tacoma tailgate for a yr. This is a great product and plugs right into the factory harness on the drivers side. The mechanism that goes in the tailgate is super easy to install. I just hope it lasts because the way it opens and closes is it has a long travel to move the locking mechanism. Im not sure what the warranty is. The instructions are not very good. You have to use the QR code and upload it onto your phone and then the pictures are very small (too close even when enlarged). Be nice if a paper version where in the box with the pictures a little further back so you can see more of the surroundings. Not too hard to figure out though as Im pretty mechanical. The box it came in looked like it was a used part though but the wiring harness didn't look used. It works though.

Look people are gonna buy regardless but I want to let yall know I bought this product in June 2024 for $90. Barely been 6 months and the product has increased by $50 to now $140 in November 2024. They can't blame inflation or economics, it's just pure greed. Look at other companies before you give them your cash. I guess great, it's an American made product but still they were making a profit 6 months ago too. Greed. And yeah the product works, is great, and fairly simple to install within an hour.

I wasn't sure if I should buy this or not, it said frequently returned in the reviews. My 2018 Tacoma came with this dealer installed and it stopped working. So I needed a replacement and this looked like it would do the trick. Sure enough when I pulled my tailgate apart it had a pop and lock, but it looked way different than the one I received. I took the the old one out and this fit perfectly in place even though it's way different. Since it's the same blue and green wire I hooked it up and it did not work right, it would unlock while I'm locking my truck and then lock while unlocking the truck. I swapped the blue and green wires so blue went to green and green with the blue and it works perfect, I was not about to rewire my whole truck with the new harness because it's a PITA. It's been working good for a week now and I'm happy with my purchase.
