It has been nearly 2 years since I installed this device on my truck and it works just as good today as the day I installed it. The lock cylinder is still turning smooth in either direction. The finish has held up to weather of (100F-118F) days in full sun. I read several reviews complaining about the usage of a one way screw head included with kit, but according to the directions you can use the original factory bolt if you choose to. I personally used the included one way screw, to me it seemed to defeat the purpose of installing this if anyone can just unbolt it using a socket and ratchet. I am not saying this devise can not be defeated as it is only a "theft deterrent" after all, but why not make it difficult as possible for those who try. People also stated there was a lot of movement in handle enough so that you could still unlatch the left side of the tailgate. I'm sure if I was to yank or pry hard enough I could probably do the same with mine, but under normal conditions if I grab or pull handle before unlocking there really is very little movement. All said and done I would recommend this devise for anyone with a non locking tailgate. I have no regrets and have been pleased with the performance and durability of this product. Please just keep in mind this item is a "theft deterrent" devise and just like the locks on your vehicle or home for that matter is not 100% full proof if some one wants some thing bad enough they will most likely figure a way around any obstacle. ... show more

Has a nice OEM look and fit right in! I have a rear view camera that I installed years ago with loads of epoxy so I was a little nervous about the fit, but it slipped right over the camera and looks just right! 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pros: - Simple to install - OEM Look - solid material Cons: - One more key to my key ring 😅 - Could be tampered with if you’re creative enough. I can jam a screwdriver behind the latch and attempt to move the locking mechanism. But you’re more likely to break those GM clips doing so, which will keep it locked for good 😂 Highly recommend for all 99-06 GM trucks! ... show more
