If your phone has more than one camera when you try and take a photo it will switch cameras. Instead of staying on the photo mode, go to portrait since only one camera can be used in that setting. I saw a few reviews on that and so far this has been the only way it works.

The light in the package is placed underneath so that you can see what you are looking at. The only problem is that when you need more light you can’t exactly adjust it up. Also, I tried to take a picture of image I looked at under microscope however with iPhone there are three lenses and each time the focus is adjusted, the iPhone would changed lenses. I am sure if I play with it some more I could make some work around with the light and taking a picture. The higher the magnification, the darker the image and I needed more light.

Got this for my niece since she's shown an interest in science, and dinosaurs, and its been working great. So far we've looked at a dead grasshopper we found in the yard, some blood(donated by her dad), and a bunch of different plants and everything looks great. The optics are great and focusing is easy, its a great gift if your kids are into science.

Overall, this is a decent setup for beginners. It has a carrying case, pre-made slides, extra slides, a cell phone adapter, and a little toolkit of various other items. I like that the 100x lens is compatible with oil for a clearer view. The microscope seems solid and made of quality material. However, I can't say the same for the accessories as they are quite the opposite. The only way to see what is on the slide is by having a light aim at the mirror and placing the mirror at a 45-degree angle to shine through the bottom of the slide. This wouldn't be such an issue, but the mirror is loose, and it shifts around while fiddling with the microscope, and the light is cheaply made. The light fell apart in 3 pieces when I first inserted the batteries, but I managed to put it back together, but the light emitted isn't bad. Lastly, the advertising seems to contradict itself. The title says 40-2000x magnification, but the description says 40x-6000x, which made me skeptical of the product. So I compared the results with my 1200x microscope, and they are about the same magnification, which is disappointing as I wanted to see more.
