There is something that plugs into a Mac or PC by USB but no useable instructions. The software download does not work because it can not be verified by Apple or Microsoft. So it’s useless. I assume it’s to generate digital photos from the microscope but no instructions and no software. But I’m returning in because when I went online to see if there were other instructions, I noticed that it was being sold for 50% less than what I paid — on the same day!!!! Interesting that they have raised the price back to the original within 18 hours. What’s going on?

I'd give zero stars but that's not an option. These are EXTREMELY POORLY made microscopes. Nothing about them has any quality. These were definitely not built in a "clean room", all the glass in the entire unit was dirty, in places you can't take apart to clean. I purchased a replacement and it was even worse. Both were returned for refund.

My 14 yr old daughter is a nature nerd! This all she wanted for her birthday. Her birthday was in February and we had snow. She found a microscopic worm in the snow off our deck. She placed the sample under the microscope! So cool!! She and her friend had a blast drawing blood samples from each other. We own a lesser power microscopic, but this pick up where the other ends. My daughter took video with her camera through the scope lens to share in her biology class. It matched what they were studying.

It is definitely smaller than I would prefer. I appreciate that it is light weight. I have to say that if you are looking for a microscope to do incredibly detailed work, this one is not for you! I have worked with microscopes in my work life for many years so I might be a bit biased. I needed a home microscope for school purposes and didn't want to spend too much. I haven't had a chance to prepare my own slides yet but I have to say the prepared slides they provided aren't the highest quality. I did a preliminary test slide and got better results but as you get to the higher powers, the sharpness isn't great. The course and fine adjustments work as expected but moving the slide around the stage is clunky at best and isn't as easy as I would have hoped. The lowest power level is designed to make it nearly impossible to clean so that is also a negative. The instructions say that the Mac Computer app should "automatically load". It does not. After some internet searching - it appears to not have an app for Macs. That is disappointing since that was a function I was looking forward to. Overall it will work and isn't overly expensive but if you need something that needs to be used diagnostically or medically - this is not for you.
