I am really happy with the Poolin sewing machine so far. I am a beginner at sewing but I wanted a machine that I could grow with and not have to upgrade after I got the basics down. I will be sewing mainly to mend and extend the life of my family's clothing but as I hopefully get better will surely try to challenge myself more. The machine has all the features I can foresee myself needing like auto threading, which is super easy, double needle which I haven't tried yet, reverse function, good LED light and foot pedal, nice accessory drawer, nice assortment of included presser feet and accessories (I thought were missing until I checked in the drawer :)), plenty of stitch options and ways to modify them per material/preference, and very wide 'throat' for if and when I start feeding in bulky items to sew. It seems to be well made and must have significant metal in the frame as it is fairly heavy, so it also sits firm while sewing. The external appearance/design is really nice and aesthetically pleasing, understated yet not utilitarian at all, nor too "cute." The instructions are well written and very helpful and I didn't need to consult YouTube or anything to get it running for the first time and amazingly I seemed to have remembered from my first attempt how to thread the machine as there are also little helper inscriptions nearby each step's area. I will be keeping the instruction manual handy as I continue to learn as it contains ample tips and tricks I can integrate over time. Packaging was great, no complaints at all there and shipping was quick. While I am a beginner and have relevant expectations, I do have generally high expectations for product and customer service quality and can say that the Poolin team has done an amazing job in both areas. I had to contact support at one point and had a very positive experience speaking with a member of their staff who was responsive and kind. While Poolin has a relatively small market presence here in the US compared to Brother and Singer, I wanted to give them a shot since the price to feature ratio was superior and it seems they have a larger commercial business line overseas that I assumed has given them enough expertise in the industry to at least create a comparable product and be motivated through product and service to win market share, which so far has proven correct. Since receiving it a few weeks ago I have patched a ripped pair of PJs and mended a hole in the pocket of some sweatpants and had a great time doing so and look forward to working down my list of clothing items that need some long overdue TLC. Pros: The needle threader is excellent, size and weight is good, bobbin thread pick up works well and there are plenty of stitch selection patterns. It did take a bit of time to balance the thread and bobbin tensions. Cons: Feed dogs are not great, has difficulty with thicker layers. Selector dials feel a bit flimsy,

Manufactured in plastic exterior and a few critical interior parts, what it looks like a well made machine it could be a nightmare. The complex mechanism of the sewing machine will malfunction leaving all sewing patterns useless, levers not engage, springs will stuck will not retrieve as intended. All of the avobe makes this Poolin Sewing Machine a 25 dollars item.

It was an old fashioned bobbin placement. I've been sewing for many years. This machine was to be a secondary on to my Brother machine. I didn't use it very often, but when I did a problem would crop up, mainly with it going over a seam. It was hard to control the speed. The wheel would freeze up and not allow the needle to go up and down. I changed the needle and thread and rethreaded it many times. Sometimes it would start working again but finally it wouldn't. I'm glad I got the extra insurance even though I didn't expect it have to use it after only 5 months. When I attempted to unscrew the pressure plate the one screw is in so tight and the position so awkward that it was impossible to detach from the machine. Also it was the only machine I have experienced in the last 25 yrs that said it required you to oil it occasionally. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it . It's very attractive but , I think not very well engineered. So beware..
