I have a non-sand pump that runs for about 10 hours per day; once the water was warmed up the heater itself barely runs. I have it set on 86 degrees and it will range from that down to 82. I’m glad I bought a larger than recommended heat pump. The box shipped with everything needed.

The unit does not do what they claim. I had it running for 3 days and saw a 2 degree increase in the Pool temp, Upon starting the unit display water temp was 77 degrees the thermostat in the pool said 67. So right there something is off. My window of return had expired due to the pool season was not quite started yet and I had not set it up to run. I made several attempts through amazon and the company for an exception for this return. I was denied . I am out 1100 dollars. beware the company is selling a product ON AMAZON that doesn't do what its intended. shame on you amazon

The here arrived within 2 days which is a great Plus because shipping said 2 weeks. When I opened the box I did not see any type of damage to the heating unit. You need to be careful when screwing in the inlet and Outlet tubes because if you screw them in too tightly or too loose they will leak. You have to find that sweet spot. It does not come with a plug so you either have to straight wire it or install it to a plug. Make sure it is a 15 amp three wire plug GFC. When I originally turned it on the unit came on like it should but the fan would not spin. I thought maybe it needed to reach a certain temperature to work. I ran the heater for 3 days and my water was not getting any warmer. I also noticed that the fan was still not running. I took the fan cover off and noticed that one of the lines was keeping the fan from turning. I was able to push the line over about half an inch and that was enough so the fan could rotate. Now the heater is working great. No problem since then.

I purchased the PLC70 heat pump pool heater serval months ago for a 12 foot above ground pool. This has been a fantastic product, as it was able to make my pool comfortable for my kids through September in Colorado. I should have brought it sooner. The pool has been consistently at 84 degrees after it's use. I device is well build. The instructions are well written and thorough. Please be aware that you will a require a separate 20 amp 120v circuit. Others have said it draws 17 amps at startup and 13 amp continuous. Honestly getting a new circuit placed was the biggest delay in getting this operation in my case. In my case I am sharing the new circuit between the pool pump and the heater. I did have two issues with the device. The original device was damaged during shipping. It was rapidly replaced without issue by the company. Second, I had issues with the defrost settings not be adequate when the temperature dipped in September. Within hours of the email I received a detailed instructions with pictures on how to adjust the settings appropriately. The quality of the heat pump is excellent but the customer service is clearly why this company will thrive. Shout out to Lynn from their team who is amazing. She even follow up in a few days to seen if her suggestions were adequate. . The other things to be aware of: 1) The shipping is from the United states and it arrived sooner than I expected/displayed 2) This device is sized in a fashion similar to mini split heat pump (outdoor units). The unit can be mounted to a wall bracket meant for those heat pump external units if so desired. It does come with feet but the feet/padding are meant to be used with wall bracket. I could not figure out how to use the feet they sent for on ground use. I used the following feet to keep the device off the ground. https://a.co/d/cjcbfEr . You do not need these, but they were helpful for my installation. 2) The unit is well made. Be aware it is a large package and relatively heavy. 3) For my Intex pool - I needed two additional 1.5 inch pool hoses. The device comes with both 40mm to 1.5 inch pool adapter and a 40mm to PVC adapter for those with rigid PVC tubing. 4) My pool is relatively small (1600-1700 gallon), with this and solar pool cover - I was able to get the pool up to temperature within 48hr-72ht in good weather. They do recommend a solar pool cover use to prevent thermal heat loss. 5) The pool heater is quite. My decade old AC compressor unit is much much loader. 6) The pool heater has a built in safety switch. It will shut it self off if there is inadequate water flow. It provides an error code on the display (E06) that shows that water flow is inadequate. This has helped me determine when there was an outflow obstruction in the water path - when a small outflow filter that I forgot about was clogged with debris. I am using this with a aftermarket sand filter and pool pump. I am not using the original pool pump that came with the device. I would worry that original pump may not have the adequate water flow to override the safety feature. Overall...this has been a really good purchase for my family. My kids have been able to use the pool well into late September. I wish I had purchased and set up this device sooner. The company and especially Lynn are very helpful, responsive and considerate. I wish more companies were like this one. I would definitely purchase again from poolcomft and Lynn again without hesitation.

We are very satisfied with the heater! We have trees that block our pool from the sun and our swimming pool could almost never get over 80 degrees. In about 3 tp 5 days the heater brought our 18' by 4' swimming pool from 72 degrees to 90 degrees and it rained a couple of those days! We are very satisfied. We have to say customer service is very very helpful. I contacted them a few times and they responded very quickly. Thank You!

It says you have a great tech support, but no info on how to contact. This worked great for a total of 3 months, now has a error showing to much pressure or EH on the display, no information on parts, possible issues, no place to download a manual, I bought this in August 12 2023, installed mid August of last year, used a month before shutting down pool, used for a month and a half, and now has error. No information anywhere for the company or products or parts. I would not recommend anything that can hold up to a normal season of swimming, and unavailable tech support from what I see. Thanks again Amazon for allowing this to happen to customers expecting more use the a couple of months.

Purchased the pool heater in August 2024. Worked excellent all year until we had a catastrophic rain storm. Even though the heater was under the deck with not much access to the elements, the control board went out and we are trying to find a replacement. Is there a way to find this part?
