Description

Pond Shield is a non-toxic epoxy liner, made in the U.S.A designed for the pond and water feature industry. It is used to waterproof and seal water features or ponds with a more designer, formal or natural look than rubber liners. Using Pond Shield epoxy means no more unsightly folds or creases. In addition, unlike rubber liners, there are eleven Standard colors available - Black, Charcoal Gray, Chocolate Brown, Clear, Competition Blue, Delta Blue, Gray, Moss Green, Sky Blue, Tan and White. Pond Shield is used for waterproofing structured surfaces found in water features such as Koi ponds, pools, fountains, aquariums, salt water tanks, hydroponics, streams, waterfalls, reflecting pools, mini lakes, holding tanks, etc. It is easily applied and easy to maintain and for most applications, a single coat application is all that is needed for proper coverage. In addition, your pond will be virtually maintenance free with a surface that algae can be easily wiped off of and is safe for fish (and other wildlife) and plants. Pond Shield offers both strength and flexibility in a coating in fact, strength and flexibility that is tested from -78 Degree F to 140 Degree F. Pond Shield is an epoxy pond liner that has been specifically designed to bond to porous or abraded materials such as concrete, wood, stone, most metals (treated and non- treated), brick, most ridged plastics, tile and many more. With a tensile bond strength stronger than the internal strength of the concrete, a single coat of Pond Shield epoxy will stick to what you apply it to. Over time, hairline cracks can form in concrete, mortar or grout joints. Being flexible, Pond Shield resists mimic cracking in these areas and provides the best protection possible in a coating.

This is a great product and expect it to provide exceptional protection to my concrete water fountain. Made contact with the supplier and Bruce provided great support with answering my questions and anticipating/surfacing other beneficial points. I indicated my concern about comments regarding the 'clear' yellowing and followed Bruce's advice to avoid "pooling". With the 'clear' I also disregarded one video showing the epoxy being poured directly onto a bird bath and used a brush to make sure the epoxy wasn't over-applied. 'Etching' the concrete and then applying the epoxy took the fountain from a concrete grey to a rich darker grey and was very pleased with this look and was glad I didn't try to get exotic with applying stain(s). I ended up doing the complete fountain, as I wanted a uniform look, and had plenty left over from 1 package (would consider this a large but not a huge fountain). The estimate of 60 sq ft per package worked for me, but really, really would have sucked to be short so I'd say order an extra package if you're going to be close or have extenuating circumstances. I was sensitive to the 'working time' of the epoxy so mixed smaller batches which worked fine for my needs. ... show more

    • Works well, but pay attention to the working time
This is easy to mix and use, and the two parts will remain usable in their cans if you don't need it all at once. The working time of epoxy is about 20 minutes, so depending on what you're doing, you may or may not be able to spread it all before it hardens. In my experience, it goes from liquid to chunky to unusable in about three minutes on a warm day. It has a glossy finish when hardened. ... show more

This stuff works great for my leaky fountain basin due to cracks. It saved thousand of dollars for not having to buy a new fountain. It's been more than 2 years and this it still looks good......no fading of the tan color....no peeling.

Finding a fish-safe, non-toxic coating that actually holds up to constant submersion can be tough, but this epoxy delivers exactly what it promises.Here is my honest, hands-on breakdown of the application process, performance, and what you need to know before buying.1. Packaging & ContentsThe quart kit arrives with two parts (base resin and hardener) along with clear instructions. A single quart goes faster than you think because the consistency is quite thick. Make sure to accurately measure your surface area beforehand.2. Preparation (The Most Critical Step)If you do not prep your surface perfectly, any epoxy will fail. I thoroughly scrubbed, acid-etched, and completely dried my concrete surface. If there is any moisture trapped underneath, it will bubble.3. Mixing & ApplicationConsistency: It mixes into a very thick, paint-like material.Working Time: You have roughly 20–30 minutes of "pot life" depending on the ambient temperature.     • WORKS WONDERFULLY!
We have a fiberglass fountain that was old when we acquired it a dozen years ago. Due to age and some cracking it was beginning to leak a lot. We decided to try and save it and bought this product. It made the fountain like new! There is a little work to do to prep before application but just follow the easy instructions. We have lots of birds and other small animals that drink from it and wife liked that there were no toxin stuff emitted from this product. ... show more

    • The end result was good. However
The end result was good. However, we had a small pond that really needed two coats of sealant. The Pond Armor instructions did not take into account temperature and humidity. We were probably somewhere near 80 deg and 15% humidity and the first half batch set up too quickly. In order to get one whole 1st coat,we had to dilute the second batch with 1 1/2 cu alcohol. It held out just long enough to finish up the rest of the first coat. We are pleased with the results, but we need to cover the rest of the 60 sq.ft. to get a second coat. The tan color worked out really well and I think the overall product is very good but there should be a guide about temperature and humidity. We waster 1/3 of the initial mix because it was too thin. As I said, we will order another batch to complete the job. It seems to be working very well! ... show more
