Started back into rock tumbling about a year ago. Needing more supplies, I went on Amazon and settled on the Polly Plastics Media Grit Kit and was well pleased with the results. I did not bother to do a review at that time. When it came time to resupply, I decided to try a different vendor (see my other reviews if you wish to know). All was fine until I finished the polish step, which looked more like a pre-polish cycle. I first suspected the new ceramic filler I was using, but after removing all of that, and rerunning the pre-polish and polish step, the results were the same. I then set that batch aside and ordered more of the Polly Plastic polish (1200 grit). Keeping all of the filler media and slabs the same, I ran the polish step again with the Polly Plastic product. The results were night and day (see photos). I really lost a lot of material off my slabs and even had a few fracture during the last try, but now I know. Works a lot better than the stuff that came with the National Geographic rock tumbler. Just let the rocks tumble with this for ~2 weeks and you’ll have shiny rocks!
