  • Everything in my house is shiny now
Size: 50000 14000 5000 grit Style: High 50% concentration
Originally purchased the set of 3 compounds (5k, 14k, 50k) for polishing harder rocks and gemstones like agate and jasper. Works great for that using it on a cotton or felt buffing wheel on a rotary tool. After I ran out of gems to polish, I moved on to other things that are hard to polish with other compounds: scratched up eyeglasses (you'd need a coarser compound than the 5k to easily buff out large scratches but these grits still totally remove any haziness and make them usable again). The stainless kitchen sink: now it's too shiny to look at in direct sunlight. The bathroom fixtures: gleaming. I put some on leather for stropping knives and tools and it works perfectly for that application, both faster to sharpen and much less messy than wax compounds. The grease-based compound isn't difficult to clean off surfaces with a little detergent or alcohol and a little dollop goes a looong way before it quits polishing: your polishing cloth will get too dirty to use long before it quits polishing. Speaking of polishing cloths, I've found that cotton face cleaning pads are ideal for polishing small things, as are blue shop towels. For larger things or metal, a piece of scrap leather like suede or a chamois is more aggressive. It's also important to note that it's essential to clean the surface and change applicators between grits so as to not contaminate the finer compound with residue from the coarse compound, if you really want a super shine. The 50,000 compound quickly makes a clear mirror on steel if you do it properly. I'll definitely be ordering the higher grits to see how shiny I can get some things and the coarser compound as well. As for the brand itself? Good deal for USA-made products, definitely concentrated enough that you get more than your money's worth. Glad I tried this first before buying one of the "dime a dozen" brands that are listed everywhere. ... show more

  • Excellent Diamond Stropping Compound!
Size: 4000 2000 1200 grit Style: High 50% concentration
This is a really good easy-spreading diamond stropping compound. This is American Made goodness right here and I have used this to put mirror-polished edges on several knives. This even worked to rehabilitate and knife I had previously abandoned becuase I could not get it to take an edge. So this worked to put an edge on a knife that was otherwise useless and was ready to be discarded. I paired this with leeather strops from Sharpal, Bacher, BeaverCraft, and TSPROF and have used the different strops for differnt grit of compound so as to have different levels of grit to graduate to. They all took this compound well. I suggest conditioning the leather ahead of time before adding the stropping compound. I have found that rubbing the compound in evenly and letting it dry for a few minutes has yielded best results. Also, a little goes a long way so very little is used and this lasts a long time. after the initial Even coating distribution a dab every 10th sharpening has been my pattern. That may vary depending on what you are sharpening and how many passes you make. ... show more

  • Worked great, just as expected
Size: 1050 1500 3000 Grit Style: Light 10% concentration
This buffing compound has worked exceptionally well. I have used it twice so far and it performed just as expected. My first use was on a bathroom faucet. There was some sloppy casting and finishing work on a small section of the faucet that my wife just finallly got tired of looking at. She wanted to replace it. Instead, I started with the 1,050 grit and a dremel with buffing attachment to make quick work of cleaning up the physical blemishes and matching the rest of the area. I moved to 1,500 grit with the tool and a new attachment to refine the finish. Then I used the 3,000 grit and a new attachment to take it to the final finish. Lastly, I used a rag, finger and the 3,000 grit to remove the pattern left by the tool and make everything uniform. It looks great, my wife is pleased and I don’t have to replace the fixture I installed not all that long ago. I also used it to clean up the scratched resin “crystal” of my work watch. All the beatings had left the watch “crystal” scratched and it was difficult to see the small digital display at the bottom of the analog watch face. Using a rag I started with the 1,050 grit and worked my way to the 3,000 grit. The “crystal” is once again shiny and I can see the digital display perfectly well. I didn’t get rid of the deepest gouges but I’m unconcerned as my goal was just to be able to see the display. It took me, maybe, a total of 15 minutes between getting everything out, buffing and rinsing. If I had been more concerned with trying to get rid of more scratches it may have been possible by spending more time but the goal was accomplished. ... show more

  • A subtle difference
Size: 2000 4000 8000 Grit Style: Light 10% concentration
The polish did help but I probably should have chosen a rougher polish since the scratches are deeper than I thought.

  • Didn’t work as well as I would like
Size: 3000 5000 14000 Grit Style: Light 10% concentration
I feel like it could work but did for me. I had a few small scratches on my iPhone 13 Pro. Unfortunately I worked on buffing it for over 20 minutes and it didn’t get rid of them. It did clean my phone scream really well but the scratch’s are still there. It’s a very expensive way to clean a phone lol. ... show more

  • Great results! All-in-one kit
Size: 1200 2000 4000 Grit Style: Light 10% concentration
The glass on my antique pocket watch was so badly scuffed and scratched that numbers on the lower left (VI through IX ) were illegible. I applied the pastes to dremel felt wheels and polished the glass, starting with the 1200 and ended with the 4000. The glass cleared up amazingly. In addition, because the polish is so fine it was able to clear the glass while also retaining its age related irregularities: so in the case of this antique watch the glass looks old and clear ( as opposed to looking brand-new, which would be out of place in this instance ) A ‘brand new’ look would have just taken more polishing, but I stopped when it was ‘just right.’ I’ve been frustrated by trying to polish glass in the past, but this kit worked beautifully. ... show more
