Description

304 Stainless steel tumbling media is rust and corrosion resistant and ABLE to stand up to strong compounds. Using a Stainless steel media is important to avoid rust and works great for wet tumbling. The abrasion resistance of Stainless steel media is 3-5 times greater compared to cast steel media. Stainless steel media can be used over and over as long as it is stored properly. After using, strain in a fine mesh Strainer and lay out the pieces on a dry towel. Pat dry with another towel and let them air dry in a dry sunny area before storing. Some customers prefer to keep them stored completely submerged in water. Either way they will provide you with many uses.

    • The round shot is not magnetic stainless steel
This shot worked well for tumbling, but I removed all the round shot. I used magnets to confirm steel and to the make it easy to isolated the jewelry pieces. None of the round shot was picked up by the magnet. It is listed as 304 stainless, but this portion does not work for me. The other 3 shapes were perfect. ... show more

If you wanna know about how much space it takes up imagine a box 1inch x 3 inch x 3.5 inch that's how much space this 2lb shot would take up. Don't know if that helps.

I liked it was actually Steel Shot. My Tumbker came with little round balls ! The didnt do the job that this does. Jeweler Steel Shot. I leas happy to finally get the right steel shot , it was just not very much of it. I was pleased when i ued it they did not turn rusty. Which my little round balls did. ! Definately water resistant. I am a bit disappointed as these these have many sharp edges...I tumble silver and it leaves marks. Would be fine for other projects but to harsh for jewelry.

I read several reviews on these shots, so I wondered if they where going to be what I wanted. So I bought them. They do not come with instructions, so because I wanted to be fair to both my self and to the product I Googled how to use Stainless Steel Shots, I watch a video on U Tube. Besure you have a fine mesh strainer, put all your shots in a fair size plastic bowl with a little dish soap. When your done pour them into the strainer, and rince them well. When get a wide like 6inch X 6inch dish and fold up several paper towels after you have rinced and strained them pour them onto the paper towel and keep anther paper towel and rub them and move them around, if the paper towel their on is real damp get a couple more and lift the others out and put new towels in the dish and carefully pour them on to the dry towels. Im telling you this because so many people write bad reviews because they assume something is worry free. There are different grades of stainless steel. I have bought cheap new dinner ware thatbsaid stainless steel and it rust. So if you take care of this product let it take its time to air dry, change the towels. Then store them in a dry baggy, then these should last you a long time. I am extremly happy with these. Infact i only need to use half of the 2 lbs I bought, and it polished up my copper chain maille bracelet beautifully. And i cleaned and washed them again.
