I grabbed this mixer for a livestream of karaoke I was hosting. I am not a karaoke DJ, but on very special occasions I'll host it. We had a particular event that needed something to host it online, so I figured this would be simple enough to use. While this is targeted as a beginner mixer, its more complicated than I expected and you will definitely want to read what individual knobs and buttons do as its not clear and most buttons have multiple modes. I am sure with enough time this becomes muscle memory, but its not straight-forward. The manual IS pretty clear on their uses though and was way better than I thought it would be. I was able to get it working the way I needed it to within a few minutes, minus all the extras it could do. The FX/Reverb are servicable. Not great and not awful. The other voice-changing and preloaded noises aren't great. This thing also is battery powered. At first I didn't think that was a big deal, but it made hooking it up that much easier. The outputs/inputs on this are really what I had an issue with. Its a mixture of USB-C, 1/8 and 1/4 inch. No 1/4 outputs, which mean I had to run 1/8 to 1/4 to XLR for my setup. Headphone outputs are 1/8 inch as well, and while most pro headphones have an adapter for 1/8 inch, I'd rather not do that. The USB-C inputs are fine and bluetooth for music, but not more outputs is a huge bummer. I think if you have your setup all in place, and you know exactly what you need for in/out this might be perfect for you. But if you are doing an intial setup, look for something that has more professional in/out or expect to buy a variety of adapters to make this work.

It mentions being a DJ device- it's not a DJ device. There is no interface to queue or mix different audio files/sources. It's a rudimentary mixer/interface for streaming/ podcast purposes. It is self powered, and features are rechargeable battery, which is cool. Even cooler with that it uses USB-C. This seems to be aimed at users trying to utilize a stream workflow based around cell phones, although it also features a serial connection for computer use. At that point though there are much better (and free) options to run on your computer instead of through this unit. Maybe by this if you're in the bizarre situation where you don't have any inputs whatsoever on your computer? This thing has a "screen" but it's kind of trying to gaslight you into thinking that it is more than what it is. The display is actually made up of a few multi segment numer LCDs, and a couple of leds that light up when options are chosen. It's not like an actual screen is what I'm saying, it's just printed to look that way. That really doesn't help this unit as the user interface is not very intuitive, and in lieu of information on a screen- they have an automated voice that chimes in and tells you what options are on or off ect. V worst part about that is the fact that it chimes in at absolute top volume every time, my ears were ringing after testing this thing out. Even if you turn down the monitor knob, which should be the 'master volume', those voice prompts still played punching bag with my eardrum. It has an onboard tubby sounding reverb, a barely effective EQ section for the microphone inputs, and a noise gate. It has a decent amount of I/O, but is crippled by the fact that it's all miniaturized outputs/ inputs. Think ipod headphone jack. I actually struggled to find a single microphone or headphone that I had that I could use with this thing. All my microphones are XLR. (as they should be.) Kind of silly to not put at least a quarter inch TRS for microphone inputs.. It's not like there wasn't room for it. The included documentation explains what all the ports and buttons do but speaks nothing of how to set up a workflow with the thing. You will need to know what you're doing to piece it together. So- kind of ironic as a device that seems to be aimed for the beginner market.

I'm very familiar with various audio equipment. It seems a decent value for the price, it's easy to use, and it matches the product description. It still performs well after just under a year, and I haven't had any issues with fit or functionality. The connection instructions are on the box, but those familiar with audio equipment won't really need it. It comes with everything you need, and it's a decent quality equipment bundle. It's great for beginners, especially teens, who don't want to do a lot of the functions on an app on their phone, or a software program on their computer. Plus, it looks great, and you can adjust things on the fly. It's not going to be for audiophiles, but it can still be useful after upgrading individual parts.

To start off with, the overall construction feels cheap. It doesn't look like it'll last more than couple months before the jog wheels will just fall off or break. The displays are nonsense. The connectivity is sketchy at best. Be prepared to buy a lot of adapters to be able to connections to most microphones and audio output equipment. Also, there are a ton of social media clips floating around advertising this same model and this one is not is shown on those clips The whole is just way smaller than what is pictured. This is a twenty dollar toy for kids and nothing more.

One of the things that prevents this from being "pro" is the lack of XLR jacks. One of the surprising things about it is a built-in battery so you don't need to power it on-the-go. It's dual-use, designed for phones and PC and works well for both of them. You can plug in (1/8" and 1/4") microphones and instruments, I don't believe it can function as a USB host, but I'm not certain. It has pitch change, voice change, effects, reverb, and pre-programmed sounds. It looks like you can add your own, but if you can, I haven't figured it out yet. When you hook it up to your phone or PC it will provide an audio output and an audio input, so you can play music "into" it and talk over it or sing over it. It has a nice long USB cord with USB, USB-C and apple connectors that's of high quality. It looks really cool (cooler than it is, like a teenager in high school). It would actually be great for a young person in their teenage years getting started in podcasting or singing/performing, but realize they'll have to upgrade eventually (that's what college is for, in addition to exploring your...anyways). It has convenient headphone ports on the front as well. I think I'll use it for a "gag-style" comedy show.

This external sound card is a decent buy. The good: external card, saving you 2 usb slots for microphone and headset, Bluetooth is a nice add (you can play music on your phone without a Google browser eating up your ram). The bad: microphone cable isn't shielded, power display is not accurate, and if you try charging it while microphone is connected there is a high pitch.
