The ram works and does increase the performance on my laptop. PNY usually a pretty well trusted brand. After several weeks of using this ram, I have not seen any issues with this device. The specification for this ram is as followed 8GB DDR4 2666 Mhz. In terms of gaming, this will work for that purpose as well. I put this into my gaming laptop and it works great. I personally like the simple look of it and the black board makes it really look blended into my laptop. It is pretty light to hold compared to the other bigger ram sticks. If you are planning to use this as a single stick in your laptop, this will work just fine. It is pretty easy to install. One thing to note is that you should unplug your computer before changing the ram. Also make sure that you discharge yourself (touch metal) before handling to avoid static damage. It does not require any additional installation or setting changes (at least on my end) to make this work. Again the most important thing is to make sure you unplug your computer from the power before you install this to avoid any problems. It is just simple ram that has a pretty fast performance. I just use this to upgrade my older gaming laptop and it helped with the overall lag of the computer. It provides me with extra ram to be a little more future proof. As a single stick, it is more than enough ram to surf the web, watch videos. I use this for gaming and it also worked just fine. Be aware that for most gaming laptop, 8 gb will be a bit of a bottle neck. There are no real heating issues with no heat sink. It performs pretty well. The packaging for open box is not that great as it was not even taped into the anti static bag so it fell out and was rolling all in the mailer. Overall this is a very cheap and inexpensive ram to have (considering our chip shortage). It performances is strong. It is great as a single stick (although 8 gb is a bit low for gaming laptops) or for an additional stick. I have actually added this to my gaming PC and it worked just fine with all the other ram.

I rarely write reviews, but thought this is important enough to warrant helping others. Since I was concerned about ordering more memory that was not listed as "compatible with iMac" or "made for iMac", but wanted to save some money over those hyped brands, I thought that I'd add my comments about my experience with PNY. My iMac originally came with two 4G memory sticks. I bought two PNY 32G, DDR4, 2666 Mhz memory sticks in separate packages. At first I replaced just one 4G with one new 32G, figuring that the other one is still new in the package for return in case something went wrong. The iMac booted up after about 30 seconds, I clicked the "About This Mac" and it recognized both cards running 2667 (actually) Mhz for a total of 36G. Second round, I replaced the other 4G with the 32G and put both 4G back into the other remaining slots 1 and 3 hoping that maybe it would run all of the them. Well as expected and as noted by others, they were all running fine but at lower 2166 Mhz. So third round, I removed the two 4G leaving just the two 32Gs in slots 2 and 4, and rebooted again. In "System Report", then "Memory", it's indicated that two 32Gs are running at 2667 Mhz and all is well. I'm not a gamer, so I cannot comment on peak performance. Everything is working fine after installing. I only noticed one other review that had tried PNY with a similar iMac, so here I am. Hope this helps and saves you some money!

I have the Lenovo 4 flex pad Laptop with 4GB ram, running windows 10. Well most of the time it was using 3.9 GB of ram which made things sluggish and many time it needed like 6MB. And that will jam you up. So I saw this PNY (a brand which has treated me well over the years) for about the price of a Large Pepperoni Pizza. 16GB is the max the Lenovo can use and it only has the one port. I put it in and it instantly recognized and increased to 16GB. Things run fast and smooth now. One of the best improvements, especially cost wise. The deal with this upgrade however, is that you are not changing a lightbulb here, If you know much about computer repair not just hooking one up, maybe how to change spark plugs on a car or install a garage door opener, or especially if you used to put together those little plastic model kits, then maybe you can do this. It requires several small screws to be removed (smaller then a grain of rice), a heat shield plate removal, then a switch out of the module by unhinging retainer clips. So it's not the easiest thing, maybe watch a YouTube video on it first to see what you think about the difficulty level.

I have been tasked with updating memory in the laptops for my company. We use ThinkPads I3, I5, and I7's. This chip works in all three. I have had no issues installing these chips myself. I have ordered this same chip 5 times. Keep in mind that the set is 2 32GB RAM chips. The laptops I have installed these chips in only have one memory slot on the motherboard so I have install these chips on 10 different laptops.

I have an MSI GF72VR 7RF which a baggage handler was kind enough to throw/step on/kick and break the bottom. The break oddly enough damaged the ram and caused a (A7) Me Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed error. This really stumped me, thinking perhaps an xray damaged my bios. I ran a BIOS update via USB and that still did not work. A last ditch effort and I removed a single stick of RAM and my computer successfully booted both Ubuntu 22.05 and Windows 10. On a whim I ordered these and they would fine so far. My computer shows 32GB of RAM at least in Linux, and Windows gave a little hardware check because some things changed (I didn't verify Windows saw all the RAM, but I don't care what Windows sees). Very pleased to see this work with reverse compatibility.

Purchased this for an Acer Aspire 515-36 laptop. This Windows 10 (with free upgrade to Win11) laptop came with an I3-1115G4 processor and 4 GB of onboard RAM. The additional 16 GB (total 20 GB RAM) is an amazing difference, Office 2016 applications open instantly. Highly recommended if you are looking for additional memory, the price was just right. Please be sure to check the CL speed on your current laptop and buy a module that has a matching CL speed. Your RAM will only work as fast or slow as your weakest link!
