Great stereo for the price! I’ve been really happy with this stereo so far. My favorite features are the wireless Apple CarPlay and the amount of customization you can do with the display and settings. Everything feels pretty straightforward to use once it’s installed. If you email their Facebook page they will actually send you a file to customize boot logos and wallpapers. The installation was fairly easy, and the included instructions were actually helpful, which made the process much smoother. Installing the backup camera wasn’t difficult either. The camera quality has been better than I expected—the picture is clear and bright, even in lower-light situations. Overall, I’m very impressed with it for the price. It’s a nice upgrade and has worked great for me so far. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable CarPlay stereo! ... show more

I wanted an Apple Car Play device in my mobile home. The key goals were: - large screen for easy to read map experience - single din fit - adjustable screen height - FM radio - rear camera - super modern feel - wireless Car Play I researched many many many of the options. For decades, I've only used big brands for car stereos. They are super expensive such that I decided to look at other options. I choose the PLZ brand and I am just dazzled by the quality of this product. Also, I had several pre-sales questions and they answered every single one through the Amazon message system. My motorhome had a very old stereo in it. This new one is a super upgrade. It even has a remote control. I especially like that I don't have to use Car Play if I don't want to. I can just tune in to the radio. However, the wireless Car Play experience is seamless...super fast, easy to use...it just works. That's really nice for me because my regular car is wired Car Play which is fine but dang is wireless nice. The screen is super responsive to touch. Everything is logical and easy to figure out. The install is what you'd expect if you've done this sort of thing before which I have. No surprises. I choose to crimp the 15 or so wires to my existing harness. I used the existing sleeve and crimped and screwed it to the dash as one would. The unit powered right up and just worked. Very happy with my choice. Thanks for making an affordable and quality product, PLZ. High quality screen with so-so software and no battery for remote

First impressions of this stereo: “wait this thing is heavy! Oh no wonder…the screen is freaking HUGE. Oh good it swivels on a very sturdy articulated mount that snaps in place and is held with two little bolts.” So out of the box it’s impressive. I bought this to replace a pull out screen that was 7”. They must have included the bezel because it seemed tiny compared to this new 10” screen! The fit and finish is better than the screens in Mercedes cars. It’s that good. The installation was a breeze and since it connected using the same connectors as the previous stereo, I had a super easy install. Everything is labeled and the diagrams it comes with are in color and quite large so you can unfold and reference with ease. Connections to the speakers are universal and you can choose between direct wire that uses their internal amplifier or you can connect your external amp via RCA jacks then wire your speakers to your amp. Subwoofer and multiple camera support were all tested and used for my installation and the performance of screen switching was instant. Since I already had cameras, the connections were super easy. The camera they provide is very low quality however and it does not look good at night since it relies on IR to bounce back for light. Daytime is adequate if you are using this as a backup camera. Once installed and powered, connection to an iPhone was near instant and right away I was in CarPlay. Once this happens, the rest is about product longevity, however….there are a few things that could have been nicer for the price. The software itself allows you to set tone control via EQ settings and one loudness setting. That was disappointing as I have seen other CarPlay stereos in this price point that give WAY more offerings via software like individual db control over the subwoofer, loudness, volume and more. Not just an EQ. So the internal amp that this has on board is not so great. Other stereos that offer custom screens with your own images are also easy to use and configure but on this stereo, you have to write to someone via email to request the feature. This is a way to collect your information and I am not OK with this. I’d rather have a boring black background which is too bad because one of the selling points here on Amazon is for the custom screen. Why they don’t just allow people access without having to ask for it is beyond me and borderline suspicious. Audio quality is OK. A subwoofer is a must though because the internal amp that it has does not draw enough power to push loud audio so a subwoofer will help fill the voids left from the weak amp. If you have your own amp and sub, you will actually really enjoy this stereo. The screen is amazing. Zero contrast issues unlike the old one it replaced. I’m very happy with it overall and think it was worth it. I do wish it had better sound and I do despise that I have to write them to unlock the features that are advertised. So 4 stars it is. Time will tell if it will last more than a year. I installed this on a 1985 VW Westfalia camper van with an external amp that drives 4x 6” round speakers and another external amp that drives a 10” subwoofer. It sounds great. Too bad I can’t control it with the included remote as the remote did not come with a battery. It takes a special thinner lithium coin cell that I did not have in my collection. That’s super annoying and cheap to not include a battery for the remote. C’mon you guys! You can do better. ... show more

I recently installed the **PLZ 7" Wireless Double Din Car Stereo (MP-928W)** in my **Ford Expedition EL XLT**, and I have to say, I am extremely impressed with the performance and features of this unit! #### 📦 **Installation Experience** The installation process was straightforward, but like with any aftermarket stereo, it required some effort to wire everything properly. I used **heat shrink tubing and soldering** to ensure a strong, long-lasting connection. The included wiring harness worked well, though I did have a couple of **unused wires** that the instructions didn’t mention (notably the **Blue/White wire**). The **Violet/White wire** was for the backup camera, which I figured out later. For mounting, I used the **Metra Double Din Dash Kit**, but it didn’t quite fit perfectly. I had to **remove the top plastic trim from the stereo and modify the dash kit** by cutting the four end pieces that were preventing the unit from sitting flush. This wasn’t an issue with the stereo itself—just a compatibility quirk with my particular dash kit. I also added a **USB 3.0 port** by replacing an old, unused **cigarette lighter socket**, which allowed me to neatly connect the rear USB cable from the PLZ head unit. #### 🎵 **Sound Quality – A Huge Upgrade!** My Expedition has a **premium factory sound system with a 160W amp**, and I used the correct wiring harness to retain my amp and **RAP (Retained Accessory Power) system**. The sound output is **phenomenal**! Deep, rich bass, crisp highs, and a well-balanced midrange. It’s a significant improvement over the factory stereo, and **Bluetooth 5.3** provides seamless, high-quality streaming with zero lag. #### 🚗 **Performance & Features** ✔ **Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto** – Works flawlessly! The connection is stable, and I haven’t experienced any drops or lag when using my phone. ✔ **QLED Touchscreen** – The display is **bright, crisp, and responsive**. It looks premium and feels like a high-end infotainment system. ✔ **Backup Camera Support** – I paired it with an **AHD 1080P wide-angle rear camera**, and the quality is great. Night vision works well too! ✔ **Custom Boot Logo & Firmware Update** – I reached out to PLZ via **Facebook**, asking if I could get a **custom boot logo for my truck** and a software update. **They responded within hours** and sent me exactly what I needed. That’s **amazing customer service!** #### 🛠 **Final Thoughts** This stereo is an **absolute steal for the price**! Good enough for most but, I have suggestions...

First, this unit has really good navigation. It's considerably better than the JBL LEGEND that I have installed in my truck. The fact this thing is wireless is incredible for the price. Also for the price, the backup camera and front camera quality is very decent and it can even be adjusted. Another good thing about this screen is that it's pretty snappy going through the menus and starts up relatively quickly. So if those things are what you're looking for, buy it. Now, here's what I would include: This unit has an EQ, but it's global and tops out at 16khz, not 20khz. This is super awful if you have independent amplifiers for subs and door speakers. Global means when you adjust the frequencies on the screen, it applies it to ALL of the speakers with no separation. This is terrible because you don't want low end going to tweeters and midrange speakers, or mids to high, so on and so forth. You also have to be ULTRA careful with your subwoofer settings because there's no option on screen to adjust them AT ALL. Make sure you have a boost knob handy. So, you'll need to buy crossovers separately and be very careful with how you set your amplifier dials. Also, the preout power is only 2v (not a huge deal, but 4 is obviously better). One of the things I'm disappointed with is there is zero time alignment capability. That would be a massive improvement. Also, be aware that my unit (this might be specific to me and just bad luck) has a ton of signal noise. It sounds like a ground loop buzz. I assure you with 1000% confidence my equipment and wiring is installed correctly and not the issue here. I run 0 gauge with shielded cables, Big 3, X2 AGM, and high output alternator. If you are reading this and don't know what that means, you'll be fine. It's certainly well beyond overkill and not what "normal" people need to properly operate this radio. So, all-in-all this is a good enough system for folks that just want to drive, not get lost, and listen to music. But for people that want a little more control of their system and audio experience, this ain't the one. I'd really recommend the JBL LEGEND for sheer music quality and options, but that navigation issue IT has is god-awful. It's basically unusable a lot of the time. I digress. The PLZ is good, but is seriously lacks the finer details and that NOISE sucks, bad. For you audio freaks, it starts clipping around 32-33 with flat EQ on the volume, FYI. Works fantastic with my D40 Frontier

Installed this unit on my D40 nissan frontier (2012) and it has been a fantastic upgrade!. I have used it mostly for onX off-roading and works flawlessly. All harnesses were labeled well, so it was not hard to wire. you will need to have a wire harness adapter if you are using on an older D40 frontier. I already had one, so it was not a problem for me (harness from another nissan vehicle I had before) The touchscreen is pretty responsive. and also it is nice to have the extra touch buttons on the side, although I do wish It would have a knob for the volume. this connects quite well to my Galaxy Phone, did not had any stutters or disconnects so far, gotta test with an iPhone, I'd assume works just as well. totally would recommend this unit. has been great for me, got compliments from family and friends =) ... show more

This headunit is AWESOME. Tons of features, CarPlay, and a huge bright high res display. What more could you want. The wireless CarPlay connects super fast, and the headunit is easy to setup as long as you know how to do a little wiring. The customer service was amazing as well, I messaged PLZ on their Facebook page. They got right back to me, helped me, and also offered to help me do an update on my headunit. They even helped me install my own custom audio wallpaper to it as well. These guys are awesome. Good luck finding customer service anywhere else like this. I looked at a ton of other headunits before buying this, I even looked at some “name brand” Sony, pioneer, jvc, units that are similar to this style. All of those were double to triple the price. This performs just as good if not better than most, and the display is better looking. And the display bezel will fit into the design and form language of most modern ish cars. ... show more

Big screen, Great look, modern radio in your older car!

This has been the coolest & somewhat best radio purchase I’ve made in a long time. I have so many likes about the EQ because I run both the radio amp to 4 speakers & an amplifier for an additional 4 speakers (8 total), plus my 15” sub with amp. The balance is greater than my older radio & subwoofer could finally be set to 50 HZ with a separate bass control built into the radio! It works with my older reverse camera because I have been lazy to replace with New one yet. It’s disappointing that you can only get YouTube to actually playback videos on the screen during Mirror mode, and that still has a slight audio lag. I might try a separate video player device to hook through AV so I can maybe get DVD video to play on both screens, but I was unsuccessful getting any streaming services to play on screen through Car Play or Mirror mode. So disappointing there, but understandable because it’s still illegal to offer video to a driver. Legal liability. So I’m not to upset, haha, I’ll find a way. I was unhappy with the front camera operation as I purchased the only model that works with this type of setup, (not offered by seller) so you should get a USB powered one like ai will be trying or a separate dash cam setup. **It has frozen once & I had to shut off my vehicle for a few seconds so it could shut off & I could restart** then it was fine. The EQ alone is 60% of my approval and the rest would be the smooth touch screen capability & volume. Easy to learn & navigate. Also navigation with Waze on your phone is awesome to have up on screen with your music player as well. Always have your phone charging. On and on, it’s worth the cheap cost vs past radio costs & capabilities! ... show more
