Frankly, I was astonished by this reel. I needed a reel to go with a collapsible rod to stow in my center console. I mostly fly fish, but on occasion want a spinning rig on hand. I didn't want to spend much, so this seemed like a natural fit. I figured it would be total throwaway, but I was wrong. The retrieve is silky smooth, the fit and finish are solid, and the drag is smooth and has plenty of holding power. I switched it to a right hand retrieve and am set. I just got back from the beach where I gave it a good workout and it performed like a reel literally 10 times the price. If this were a $100 reel I would give it four stars as it is slightly heavier than reels using more light weight materials. But I didn't pay $100, I paid $20. Five stars all the way - this is easily an everyday reel that will not disappoint. ... show more

I recently purchased a relatively inexpensive surf rod to use a few times a year shore fishing on Lake Erie. Because it isn't going to be used for salt water and the rod wasn't expensive I wanted a 5000 sized reel to match. I have purchased this brand before because they were good quality and are not expensive. This is exactly what I wanted. I got some 40 pound braid and loaded it up. It will pair great with the rod. If I was a professional fisherman or something I would have better equipment but honestly this set-up is just as good as something that would cost me hundreds more. I am happy with this reel and this brand. I would recommend it for anyone who loves to fish but doesn't want to break the bank. It is a fantastic bargain. ... show more

I bought the 5000 and the 4000 reels. I wanted a reel for bass and inland saltwater fishing. The 4000 pairs well for weight with my 7’ medium weight rod. I put 0.37mm braid on the 4000, which was a larger diameter than the reel states it can handle, but it went on great and casts well with it. The photos are of the 4000 model. The 5000 was too large for my needs, but if you were looking for a reel for the surf or for catfish, it would do fine. One thing that’s a little odd is the placement of the line keeper behind this bar that is outside the spool. But that’s a small design issue that doesn’t affect the function of the reel. Do not let the price fool you. PLUSINNO GG5000 is a solid reel with a buttery smooth response. I own Daiwa, Shimano, and Penn reels and this reel has really impressed me. The reel is very lightweight, weighing 13.6 Oz (unspooled) compared to my Daiwa BG 4000 (Spooled) at 14.9 Oz. The bail click and drag click are very audible even better than my Daiwa BG. Anti-Reverse is very solid, comparable to any name brand. Reel pairs and balances very well on my Hurricane Redbone 7 foot medium action rod. This will be a great setup for my inshore fishing. The only gripe I have is the handle knob is very small and does not have a rubberized coating on it, but I am sure that can be easily modified. I will be posting a tear-down and review video on my youtube channel "saltloony" in a few months of abuse to see how good it holds up to saltwater use. Great reel for under 25$, time will tell how it holds up. I will update the review in few months. ... show more

I'm a fan of Plusinno gear. I have a number of their telescopic rod/reel combos and use them almost every time I'm out fishing. I needed a new reel--specifically a higher-capacity reel for when I'm inshore fishing for reds and bottom fishing for larger cats--so I ordered a GG4000. After the reel arrived, I spooled it with my standard half mono backing, half braid with a fluoro leader, and I mounted it on one of my stiffer rods as this overall setup is going to be for targeting larger, harder-fighting fish and for punching through thick mats, securing solid topwater hooksets, etc. Spooled as such, the reel performs beautifully! Casts are consistently long and smooth, and the retrieve is also silky smooth via the comfortable crank handle. I haven't yet made an inshore fishing trip--that's scheduled for July--and unfortunately the cats weren't biting the when I took this rig out for bottom fishing last week, but I did manage to get a really nice bass on a topwater. Once it committed, I was able to land the fish with no issues using this reel. For the asking price, this is an absolutely great reel. I'll likely order a few of the smaller capacity versions as I need to replace my other spinning reels in the future. ... show more

I’m into this reel. For the price, I just don’t think you can beat it. It looks and feels much higher quality than you’d expect. I took it out today for the first time and honestly it was great. Casting on it was fantastic. Reeling was smooth. No complaints. Can’t speak for its durability having just purchased it recently or how it would respond to saltwater conditions, but overall I was impressed and happy to have it in my collection of reels. I think it’ll most likely become my go-to spinning reel. I recommend this reel without hesitation. ... show more

This reel performs great no issues. I like that it is a bit more classic which I have used for years and able to put standard line on without feeling like I’m going to cut into the braid grip ring on some newer reels. I really enjoy the look of this reel and have had great success using it without having concerns of innovation. It’s tried and true and why fix it when it isn’t broken. Great smooth reeling with nice handle and finish has held up through some abuse. It’s just plain good no arguments. ... show more

I also own the previous model GS3000 and I was pretty pleased with the performance for the price point. This model, the GG3000, PLUSINNO has made some nice and very noticeable improvements on and I can say that it is an absolute bargain for the price. Smooth casting, the bail operation is much improved over the GS version I have, super smooth retrieve and the drag seems to be smooth and consistent. Plus, although a little dink, I caught a bass on my very first cast with it! Whether you're just getting into fishing, or you need a spare reel, you just can't beat the overall performance that the GG3000 delivers at such a modest price point.
