I took this on an alpine hike in Montana 6 miles up a mountain to a beautiful lake. Used my own spinners and caught two rainbow trout using this rod. I leave it in my truck in case I want to go fishing. The carrier case is about 1’ by 8”

I bought one and love it. it functions great and it's perfect for the kayak or backpacking. (originally bought because I wanted it on my motorcycle rides). I purchased a second one and the tip of the rod will not retract. Noticed that the eyelet that it retracts into is bent and I tried multiple things, but was unable to retract the tip. All others retracted great though and I have no issues with my first purchase. I would give this thing 5 stars, but the second pole has some issues. Could have been caused in transit, who knows. ... show more

I bought this a few months ago and I am very happy with the quality and value. I’ve flipped larger fish onto the dock with it multiple times and it has not broken. The reel is also very nice and smooth.

Ordered two 2.1m full kits with carrier bag case for ~US $70 each. We were looking for a telescoping rod with case to travel with so we didn’t have to redo the line every time we took a multi-section rod apart. This is our first Plusinno purchase and it was a good price for what we got. The rod felt good in the hand and the lower section is solid. At first glance, the telescoping sections seemed a little chintzy but after using it, it had great action and works extremely well for squid and lighter fish (perch, trout, sand dabs, etc). We like the smooth action of the reel that came with the kit (Plusinno HA3000) and it casts well. The reel seems to be mostly metal instead of mostly plastic, which I prefer. The only problem we saw with the reel is the screw cap that holds the handle on to the reel can come loose. After a month of use my wife’s handle flew off during a cast and I checked my screw cap and it was also loose (probably due to shock and vibration of casting). I contacted customer support to see if they sold spare parts and they sent us replacement parts with no issue. It’s simple enough to check the screw cap once in a while. I might try to put a little of that blue stuff that increases friction on the threads. We haven’t used the lures that came with the kit since we have our own favorites and the fish react differently in different regions. You can find lower priced options that provide exactly what you paid for. The rod and reel we got with this kit will probably last us a while longer than what we might get with many of the lower priced kits. We’re not professional fishing folk and this kit meets all of what we were looking for. The loose handle would have lowered the rating to 4 stars, but the great customer support pushes it up to 5 stars. ... show more

Updated review from 4 stars to 1 star: 2.5 months of using the rod and it is already rusted. I use it around twice per month so that’s about 5 times since I bought it. I took a good care of it including air dry it before putting into storage. It’s now really hard to extend the sections, which defeated the most attractive concept of this rod. The “stainless guides” are rusted too. Now looking at other reviews, people were all complaining about rusted after around 2 months. Never expect a 40 bucks rod only lasted 5 times usage. My Walmart cheap ones lasted years. Reel is still quite and smooth, the only issue is the line won’t roll back with any weight attached. I’m not sure if there is something wrong with the fishing line I bought or the reel. Previous review: I’m new to fishing and I used to buy the basic cheap ones from Walmart, they all come with the fishing lines. My bad I thought all fishing rods come with the line. The fishing rod is a bit advance for me, I’m still learning to use it. The good part: the fishing reel is awesome!!! It’s sooooo smooth and you can clearly tell the difference between this one and the cheap ones . It also looks so fancy. ... show more

My sons and I travel and they like to do a little fishing as we see new places. We have looked at other collapsible rods (and even purchased one which proved a disaster) but he loves this collapsible rod. One area he is cautious of is the joints of the rods where they extend out. These can be problematic. He really likes this rod from that perspective. The spool is another matter. He is not pleased at all with this spool. Something to do with the tension and the lack thereof and it causing ‘bird nests’. He told me that he purchased another spool and has successfully placed a different spool on this rod and it works like a charm. He wishes the company would sell rod and spool separately. But as a bundle, he doesn’t feel the value for the buck. I would not repurchase this product. ... show more
