It's a beautiful bench, but I expect more from Plow and Hearth. For the money, it should NOT be chipping like this after only 6 months. We ordered two of these benches. I received one as a gift and I purchased one to go with it. The one I have received as a gift was an excellent condition and we put it together with no problem. The second one however had two large intentions on the side of the box and when we opened it the bench was severely damaged and had to be replaced. They are packed well enough. However shipping was definitely the problem and apparently this is common. The directions in the box however do you kind of make it lean to the fact that this isn’t really sturdy outdoor furniture. It says things like make sure you cover it up during harsh weather it should be stored and used underneath the covered porch and not put it outside your garage door which is where mine is going. So I think their advertisement is a little shady. Otherwise we’ll see I do like the way they look. ... show more

I was reluctant to purchase this bench because of some of the reviews I read. However I decided to go forth and got a great deal on Prime Day saving $50.00. The bench arrived by UPS in two days. It was firmly packed and all the necessary bolts came with it including two allen wrenches. I was surprised that the bench came in three sections. It was very easy to install less than 30 minutes with one person holding one side while the bolts were attached. It looks beautiful on my front porch. Once installed it actually folds up easily for winter storage. I was surprised that the bench was made in Vietnam. Whoever designed it put a lot of thought into it and it is one of the most striking and comfortable benches that I have ever owned. I am extremely happy following my instinct and overlooking other negative reviews. ... show more
