  • Good headset, but get the Plantronics charging case for it instead of a third party option
Style: Headset
I used this headset for the past several years every day for work. The headset itself was great, but eventually the battery gave out on it and couldn't hold a charge. I need it for work so I didn't have time to try figuring out how to get inside and replace the battery so I just ordered a new one. I got the Plantronics charging case with the new one and am MUCH happier with the new case. It is much higher quality and does a much better job of initiating charging. ... show more

  • Crystal Clear Calls, All Day Comfort – A Must-Have for Busy Professionals!
Style: Headset
The media could not be loaded. The Plantronics Voyager 5200 is hands-down the best Bluetooth headset I’ve ever used. As someone who’s constantly on the go—between meetings, driving, and taking work calls—this device has been a total game changer. The noise-canceling technology is phenomenal. It blocks out wind, traffic, background chatter—everything. People on the other end consistently say it sounds like I’m in a quiet room, even when I’m outside or in noisy environments. The fit is secure and super comfortable—I can wear it for hours without any discomfort. The battery life easily gets me through the day, and the voice command features make answering and managing calls effortless. If you need a reliable, high-quality headset for work or travel, don’t think twice. The Voyager 5200 is worth every penny. Clear audio, long battery, pro-level comfort—it checks all the boxes. Update- I’m giving this 4 stars because of how nearly impossible it is to get the USB out of the socket inside the case. It’s always a struggle!!!!! I wish it was a push and pull method ... show more

  • Great Hedset - Updated
Style: Headset
I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro that I bought 12 years ago, and it is still going strong with 4 hours of battery life. I lost 2 hours of battery capacity over this last year. I decided to upgrade and purchase this Voyager 5200 to work with my desk phone and Skype calls using UC. I love this headset! The sound quality is great, and the volume goes up quite loud, which is nice for those videos with low volume..... I like that I have the ability to change the programming using the phone and desktop app. Overall this was a great purchase. I get between 6 and 7 hours of audio listening. It is also nice that I can control Google Assistant and Play\Pause videos and Audio all from the headset. I do get complaints from people on the other end of a call because they can hear lots of background noise around me if I am in a noisy environment, but in an office environment it works great and cancels out constant sound like fans and such. Update 09-08-2022: I now seem to have issues with this headset. The volume buttons on the phone do not control the headset volume. It just bounces up and down, and I have to use the software slider on my phone to change volume. Pressing the software volume up and down give the same bouncing result for me. I have since reset the phone to defualt, as well as use the headset with other devices, and the results are not great. My old, now 13 years old, Plantronics Voyager headset still works great, although the battery only last 2-3 hours on it. I wish I could buy new old stock of the original PLantronics voyager. They were great! Other issues I have with the 5200 is the sound is choppy and controls do not work to pause, and bookmark correctly. Again, other headsets work fine. The more I use the 5200, the more I dislike it. The sound quality is just not comparible to other headsets. In conclusion, I would not buy this headset uless they release a patch to fix all the issues. There are far better ones out there. I do believe this is software related as the headset seems to get worse every time I update the firmware. Update: 2022-01-18 - Now the microphone has died as well. ... show more

  • Take Pause - Poly 5200 Bluetooth Headset - Poor Quality
Style: Headset
I have purchased eight of these headsets and used them for over a year before I posted this review. From my testing of eight of the 5200 series, I have concluded the 5200 series has serious issues in quality: Battery life under performance: 7 to 8 hrs use expected (W/O HD Voice) on avg use, expect four+ hours Voice Commands Notifications fail frequently: goes silent, status isn't available or voice commands available, there's a way to reset sensors by holding vol up& down while turning it on. This only works for a while. This is consistent on the eight headsets I have purchased. Charging port: The accessory case (separate purchase and four different ones tested), charging isn't consistent. The USB port on the headset is often difficult to connect; and the rubber dust cover (On USB) will eventually will fail and no longer be attached to headset. The type of power charger used will play a role as the headset will not charge with high wattage power adapters. The interface is an older version of USB, not USB-C requiring more accessories if you travel. (Charging Cases do not work correctly for me) Bluetooth interference: often I find when in a room w/ other Bluetooth devices there's a level of interference which causes frequent disconnects of the headset. If you have more than one of the 5200's paired with a device, and both are on, its not smart enough to know which one you're wearing. This is a simple software fix. (Senor can tell when you are wearing it) Firmware Updates: Keeping headsets up-to-date is very important. I find that poly has limited & restricted manual firmware updates. Some updates should be reverted for better performance. Its pretty much a one shot deal; take what they offer and that's it. A word of caution too: when looking for firmware updates, I discovered their refurbished headsets do not have the same firmware as a new headset. Performance and feature rich options appear to be more limited/restricted. Microphones drop: I've noticed at times when the battery life is below 25% that the microphones become intermittent. People in conversations complain they cant hear me, so I change to another fully charged 5200. I attribute to poor design and poorly written software. This could be fixed w/ software by notifying the user to charge the headset. Comparing the older models of Voyager series headsets, the older out perform the 5200 in every aspect. After they company was bought out, the quality went out the door with it. I expected the same operational performance as the older voyager headsets and I was wrong to assume that Poly would continue the same quality in the 5200's. 5200's have caused me a great deal of frustration in day to day business. I'm now searching for a different brand all to together. I implore that you take pause before purchasing a Poly 5200 headset; research is your best defense to determine a Bluetooth headset product which best suit your needs. ... show more
