  • Happily surprised!!
I bought this when it was on sale as kind of an impulse buy and was kind of regretting it a little bit tbh, and thought I'd probably just return it once it came in. Nope! Firstly it was shipped in a heavy duty cardboard rod tube. I was impressed with that as I've ordered rods from more well known places and they weren't shipped in as nice a tube as this was. So after taking it out of the tube I was pretty excited about how the rod looked and felt. It is very light! And it's very comfortable in my hand. I added a reel to it and took it outside and tossed a light lure all around my yard and it was very nice. Is this as nice as a St. Croix rod? No of course not. But it is also 5x less expensive (or more). It is definitely worth the sale price and probably the non sale price as well. I'll be keeping this rod and if it's the only rod you can afford or just don't want to spend more money than what this costs, I think you'll be happy with it. You really can't beat it for the cost, it's a nice rod. Make sure you get the right size for the kind of fishing you want to do and it should work well for you. Nice rods are fragile, take care of it or it will break. Same as any other rod, including very expensive ones. They are made for sensitivity and being light so you can fish all day, if you don't think you can be gentle with your rod, buy an Ugly Stick 👍 ... show more

  • Super light!! Awesome!
I recently purchased the 6’8” ML Serpent Series rod from Piscifun and I seriously couldn’t be happier. The first thing I noticed out of the rob tube is how incredibly light this rod is! Because the rod is not sanded down and coated the rod is super light. I believe I weighed it at 4oz. I have it paired with Piscifun’s Carbon X 2000 and the set up is dynamite. The sharp green color pops on the rod and it absolutely nails the cool factor. The golf style grips have kind of a tacky feel and are super comfortable. The tip is soft allowing me to cast a number 7 flicker shad a mile. The soft tip is also key so you don’t rip hooks out of the fish’s mouth. The tip absorbs the headshakes from the fish and helps prevent the hooks being thrown. I’ve used too stiff of rods in the past and you can rip the hooks out of the fish’s mouth pretty easy. I didn’t notice that at all with this rod. The hook keeper is in a location that I’ve never seen before. It’s located between the split grips. At first I wasn’t sure I was going to like it there however I don’t want it located anywhere else now. I can put my rod covers on without having hooks get caught in the mesh. This rod is awesome. I will be ordering more in the Serpent Series. ... show more

  • Great Rod, crap handle padding
Love the sensitivity of this rod so much I bought another. The rod itself is light, durable and sensitive enough to feel a light bite. I have two complaints, one small and the other… annoying. 1.) the small complaint. The bait holder is right where you grip the rod. In my many years of serious fishing, I’ve never seen a rod with a bait holder where you grab the handle. Let’s just say it “got” me a few times. 2.) the annoying compliant. Both of these rods have had the padding on the handles completely melt off while on my boat this past summer. I live in upstate NY where the sun gets hot not extreme like the south. Last summer, both rods had the glue from the handle padding come loose and I had to tape them back on. This isn’t a super expensive rod so it is what it is but it’s still frustrating. I’ve never had any other issue with dozens of different rods. These are my go to rods when I’m fishing a bed rig for bass. Just wish the handle padding held up better. Other than that, great rods at a very competitive price. ... show more

  • Piscifun hit this one out of the park!
I purchased this rod with full intent on giving a honest and true review. I am someone who is very picky on rod choice due to the fact I absolutely love to jig walleyes. I paired this rod with the Piscifun Viper 2 2000 series rod. The pair was a perfect match. Let's begin at the base of the rod. I have always been a cork handle guy, however I was beyond impressed with the gold style grip on the Serpent rod. It fits great in my hand and has a comfort level I can fish hours with. I fished this rod in the rain and the anti slip lives up to its name. I was also very impressed on how light the rod itself was. For us guys ripping heavy jigs in current this is key. While casting over structure the sensitivity of the rod allowed me to pinpoint the difference between peegravel, bigger rocks, or suttle bites from finicky fish. Also while casting crank baits I could feel each movement of the bait allowing me to know if there was even a small weed dragging with the bait. The Serpent was anything but a disappointment. I highly reccomend this rod to all anglers. I personally am ordering 5 more just for jigging and casting cranks. ... show more

  • Amazing product and highly recommend
I recently purchased the new Piscifun Serpent series spinning rod and honestly say I am in love. Shipping wasn’t an issue and I received my spinning rod damage free and in great shape. It was great to see how much care Piscifun took in securing the package so it wouldn’t get damage while in route to me. My first impression when I had the rod in my hand was “wow” the golf grip was super comfortable and the rod fit perfectly in my hand. The carbon fiber blank is super lightweight and is perfect for long days of casting and working baits back to the boat without the strain and stress to your body. After inspecting the rod further I notice the great attention to detail used when wrapping the Fuji guides. The Serpent Series is super sensitive so you will feel even the lightest bites. The backbone is very strong on the rod allowing even the hardest hook sets without worry. I highly recommend this rod to anyone whether you are the weekend angler or a top pro, this rod will perform to your every need. ... show more

  • So glad I purchased this
I poured over the reviews of this item before I purchased it. I really love this fishing rod. I was concerned it wouldn’t have enough backbone to pull in anything larger than a crappie, but it handles larger bass and catfish easily. It has the qualities of a pricier brand name rod, but it is not overpriced. It’s worth more than you pay for it. ... show more
