  • Stock is either old or these are not authentic
I'm a strings teacher. I've been using Pirastro products for decades. This set I bought from Amazon sounded ok when first installed but not quite the same as I'm used to. after a month of playing they were so horrible sounding I got another set elsewhere. Either these have been sitting in a stockroom in poor conditions or they are not authentic Evahs. Buy from a reputable source. ... show more

  • For that solo sound*
I've been playing violin for 20+ years now and just recently bought a high-end violin and bow. THESE strings bring out the solo quality I've ever heard. Until this point, I usually bought Dominates, which are great for beginners/intermediates. But once you're playing Max Bruch, Sarasate, or any intricate classical music, these are you string you need. Make sure to bye a Gold-E loop string. ... show more

  • I just feel like they make me sound more tinny and my harmonics ...
I've used these strings in the past but for some reason decided to give them another shot. I'm a Pirastro Passione fan because they make my violin sound more warm. However, since I'm planning on playing outside a lot coming up and the Passiones are half gut/half synthetic, I decided to step it down a notch. The Evah Pirazzis do their job, they're quite resonant and loud, I just feel like they make me sound more tinny and my harmonics don't sound as good. They're still good strings, and they probably would work better on someone else's violin, I just have finally learned my lesson. ... show more

  • Violin String set
These strings last for about 6 months if you play 2 hrs/day....1 year if 1 hr/day. They stay in tune once broken in.... clean, clear sound.

  • Only strings I ever use.
I've been a violinist for about 15 years, and in that time, I've used all kinds of strings. Most of them were ok and got the job done when I needed new strings. I got the Evah Pirazzi's with my new violin and I thought my violin sounded great until I got a new set of Dominants, and it sounded less great. Next time I got these strings again and my violin sounded great again. Now, I always carry a spare set in case something breaks. ... show more
