This is a fabulous unit that does exactly what it says it will do. The fact that the majority of the specs are online and can be printed out for review prior to installation, was very helpful and helped us choose this unit. Buying a split A/C online seemed insane. But this turned out to be crazy good. Though the specifics of what would ship - for example, for our particular model, how long was the refrigerant lines? - was hard to discover via the PDF's online. Yet, that was easily fixed by a simple call to the Tech support line. Which is why we give this review 5 stars. The manufacturer should not be penalized in a review because we assumed the worst, instead of the best, which is what we got! We were very impressed with the ability to pick up a phone and ask clarifying questions, which is so RARE when doing a project like this. The call was answered promptly and provided the details that we needed. In addition, the Indoor and Outdoor split units are both lightweight, which everyone appreciated. It is remarkable after the end of an installation to say: wow, what great technology at a reasonable price point. We are the envy of our friends who have consistently gotten hosed with units costing thousands of dollars more. Our contractor had an HVAC professional on speed dial so that when everything was installed, it could be quickly tested and verified that everything was done correctly. The best 1/2 hour check ever - and obviously cost effective! The PVC Line Cover Kit that was recommended worked perfectly and had enough elbows and parts to accommodate the turns of our installation. When our contractor made a choice our HVAC guy would have done differently, it was easy to adjust because we had PVC coverage to not make it an issue. The unit is extraordinarily quiet. We got this to put in a Florida enclosed cabana, with two windows and sliding patio door. Keeping canvases dry from potential mold, and circulating air so that when painting in the tropical heat, this artist might live to paint another day. Kudo's Pioneer and Amazon. The indoor and outdoor units have worked fine since I purchased the mini split system about 2 years ago, which included an installation kit. My problem is the copper lines carrying the refrigerant have corroded, causing the refrigerant to leak out. My HVAC installer inspected the system and determined the white insulation that wraps the lines has caused the corrosion. Now I am faced with a $900 repair and the Pioneer warranty company (which seems like one guy working out of his basement) is trying to deny the claim saying he has never heard of this type of problem and it must be something wrong with how the lines were run. The only remediation being offered despite a 5 year extended warranty is sending out an identical replacement line set (with no reimbursement for the labor), which will likely encounter the same problem. Very disappointed. I would have expected more from Pioneer, especially since the root cause is the installation kit that was included with the product. Buyer beware. ... show more

First off I am an HVAC mechanic by trade so my experience installing this will greatly differ from persons not familiar with installing Ductless Heat Pumps. If you have no knowledge of how to do this, I highly recommend hiring a reliable mechanic and licensed electrician to assist you in the refrigeration process or you will run into major headaches. Now, on with my experience. Everything as far as major parts is included for a fantastic price. Excellent delivery system by ABF freight. Really, you cannot get some of what you need at a refrigeration supply house for this price. The build on this unit is superb in every way. The thought of everything to assist you in the installation has been included. If you attempt to do this yourself and have none of the specialty tools, you could spend a small fortune buying them. Below are some of the things you must have on hand just to get to get the unit mounted and installed on the outdoor unit: Vacuum Pump and Vacuum Pump Oil 410a Gauge Set (1) 1/4” to 5/16” gauge adapter for 410a connection. Metric Tape measure (Yes,you need one!) Magnetic Level Stud Finder Electrical Fused Disconnect Box to outdoor unit Conduit and connectors Electrical Whip to go from disconnect to outdoor unit Drywall Anchors and Screws (If, drilling into Brick,Concrete, Rotary Hammer Drill is a MUST!) (If less than 16 ft. Line connections: Flaring Tool Small Tubing Cutter, Wire cutter, Wire strippers, Ring Connectors) Razor Knife Wire ties Electrical Tape Sharpies 2-1/2” Hole Saw Cordless Drill and assorted screwdriver bits Extension Cord I highly recommend mounting your outdoor unit on a Pioneer Brand wall bracket instead of the ground. Makes installing lines, electrical so much easier. I also installed the optional WiFi card to the Ceilo App. Works great and links to Alexa! Unit is superbly designed and incredibly quiet indoors and outdoors. I used the Hide-a-Line line cover kit because I was only going a short distance of about 10 feet. Still an excellent value and great quality. Definitely will buy this again. Great job Pioneer!! ... show more
