Smooth ink flow, bright colors, and totally reliable. I tried the retractable ones because they’re reliable but the ink doesn’t come out as smoothly. These are the best. Unless you’re writing on really smooth (think shiny) paper- they will smear on that.

I use these for my crosswords. Love the black, and was happy to find they came in more colors! I use whichever suits my mood at the time. They can bleed through if you write too slow. I have also bent the tip on 2 of my black pens accidentally, probably from walking around with them uncapped, getting snagged on clothes. But they still work, even after that, and provide an interesting quill like quality and a more interesting writing angle. I usually do around 3 puzzles a day, but don't use them for doodling or super ink intensive things. Since they are my "good pens". They can last close to 5 months if they are used "wisely". ... show more

You really can't go wrong with a Pilot v5. The pen functions correctly until it runs out of ink. The last time I bought this pack was a year ago. These are excellent pens for a dollar each.
