Style: Reformer with Tower
First, this is a 1-day review for the Paeta Reformer that is NON-foldable and has the tower. The review is primarily targeted for people who are new to Pilates and want to know how the assembly process went, the quality of the pieces shipped, and immediate first-time use thoughts or advice. I may update later. Solid machine. Quiet and smooth movement. Easy to use. This non-foldable version comes in 3 boxes (that you may or may not need assistance with - I did not) and is not as heavy to move once put together as I thought it would be. I was in no hurry to put this together so did not time the process. Assembly can be done by 1 person easily enough. Do not be in a hurry or you'll install things backwards. It is very helpful to have enough room to lay all of the parts out and go through the list to make sure all parts are accounted for. The base parts and "feet" will be the first things you need. The instructions will have you going back and forth from one end to the other so I got a roller chair and a wheeled bucket for "tools" and put the chair instide the frame once it was assembled. The base bars are the heaviest single item to maneuver in and out of the box (and they come shipped in their own box) but the platform is very movable once assembled and can be moved by 1 healthy person. I assembled my machine on a rubber gym mat and was easily able to lift each end to the location I wanted it. I am fairly strong and am confident I would be able to move this machine post-assembly one end at a time if I need to relocate. It does not come with wheels or rollers of any kind, just FYI. If you purchased the Paeta with the tower, you may need a small step stool to install the top cross bar of the tower. I am average height and did not need one. When you place a set of springs from the rolling board to the suggested holders, you will need to be flexible enough to bring your knees to your chest area in order to put your feet into the straps for any above leg work. The rope tensioner works really well, though, so you don't have to worry about the rope loosening with use. I used the tools for assembly that came with the product. The only tool I added of my own was a ratcheting hex key that fit most of the pieces. You will NOT need a screwdriver of any kind. I suggest either storing the keys that come with the machine nearby or purchasing a combo hex key tool and storing it nearby. There will be a few extra parts to store as well. Although the packages arrived damaged, I was able to locate all pieces, which were very well labeled, and determined that all pieces were accounted for and in perfect condition so I did not put in effort into complaining. Paeta, however, encourages you to let them know immediately of any damage to packaging or if there are missing or faulty parts. I may send them photos of the boxes as they were upon arrival just do they know how the carrier (FedEx) handled them. You will need space to put this machine together. There are many, many parts. Small parts (like nuts and bolts) are organized on 2 vacuum sealed step-by-step cardboard cards. Other larger parts are in labeled plastic bags. The process of putting this machine together is laid out very well and the instructions were easy to follow and primarily pictorial with few words. I used a utility knife to cut open each step as I progressed. Do not get ahead of yourself and open all of the steps at once. There are extra parts, but no guarantee there will be one for the step you are on. Patience is key. There is a very good video for how to assembly but I did not need to utilize it. The video is located here on Amazon and a paper card comes with the shipment for instructions on how to access it if you did not see it when looking at the product to begin with. I am new to Pilates so I cannot give any expert opinions here. However, I tried all of the elements of this machine (including the tower) as soon as I was finished assembling it and here are my immediate thoughts: 1. It's very smooth and quiet in operation. Very pleasantly impressed with this aspect. 2. The padding is rather minimal and I'll likely add a yoga mat on top of it. 3. The shoulder "pads" were uncomfortable (again, thin padding) when using any arm movements so I'll likely alter that area or just remove them. It's the "corners" that were uncomfortable. 4. The resistance springs all worked the first time, both on the table and on the tower. 5. The horizontal bar attachment on the tower (the metal pivoting one, not the wooden pull bar) is a nice extra. 6. I do wish the machine came with a poster with suggested movement uses. 7. For me, assembly was very easy. It is time-consuming, though. 8. Will be keeping an eye on the separate box just because I wish it had been built with thicker wood.

Excellent purchase! Very sturdy and glides smoothly and quietly. Was fairly easy to put together, took me about 5 hours and I only needed another person’s help at the beginning. I’ve been using it to follow reformer videos on YouTube. I researched a lot of reformers and this is a great deal for an excellent quality machine. Would highly recommend!!
