LIKE: Great looks, easy to install and a reasonable price. I decided to install it pointing up instead of the way it was intended in the picture but I needed a cover on top to prevent water from going in during rainy season. (I had to built a custom lid to at least match the design of the product) I think it went well. DISLIKE: 1. The housing in the back is metal but the housing of the bulb feels plasticky so I don't know how long it will last. The glass is real glass though and thick. 2. Needs spare rubber bushings. It only came with one for each side. otherwise the unit will be leaning forward and leave a gap against the wall so hopefully I'll find it at my local hardware store. In my case I figured I'll need two more for each side .

I ordered this black metal and glass sconce because it was beautiful, contemporary, and reasonable. It's also easy to replace lightbulbs with this sconce's design, whereas our former porch light hardly fit our hand! The sconce uses a standard E26 screw-in base type of bulb. It comes with detailed instructions and some hardware. You provide your own bulb. Tools are needed to complete attaching the unit to the wall, listed on the instructions. The porch light was made well, with clear glass sides. This particular model didn't come with an auto on/off light sensor, which was fine for our needs. NOTE: Check the description to see if the current model features a light sensor feature if that is important to you. The sconce itself comes fully assembled except for the part that attaches to the wall and electric wires. My husband and I discovered that the contractor who had installed our original porch light had cut some corners, so we first had to stabilize the piece into which the new porch light would screw. Installing the porch light was relatively simple. Make sure you practice electrical safety, such as turning off the power where you're working or understanding the difference in the electrical wires (i.e., the black or red wire is HOT). As you can see from the photos, the resulting light fixture is stunning. We're very happy with our sconce's performance and appearance. I hope this information is helpful.

A larger fixture, the combination of the intended location, the place it will be installed, and the qualities of the sconce should be considered as this combination will probably do as much to determine what is thought of it as anything else. In regard to the sconce itself, its frame is strong if not substantial or hefty, and the glass seems strong, too. And clear. That said, the design of the sconce could be understood as providing a place to display a light bulb, a display that happens to also provide light. So, there will be right and wrong light bulbs for this sconce, this will not have much to do with technical compatibility, but will instead be a trickier combination of function and form. Think tube or teardrop shape LED Edison bulb, ~2700k, but consider lower lumen levels. The shape of the fixture and the unobstructed view of the light source aid illumination but may also sear retinas with a 5000k 60W bulb.
