7/30/2026 - I bought and installed this smart lock this weekend. I will agree that although the videos make it look very simple to install there may be unexpected set backs in the process and it is not as simple as it looks. For one, I have a metal front door, so I cannot screw anything into the door. I had to find smaller screws to attach the unit to the bracket. The wifi works well, but there are times when Alexa reports the door unlocked, even though it is locked on the app. My biggest peeve is the sound. It is only has volume on/off option in the app. The touch pad CHIRPs are very loud. It would be nice if you could control the volume levels. We are opting to use the silent finger print option so its not that big a deal. Ill update in few months regarding the battery usage. ... show more

Edit, after 6 months Amazon has decided this $135 smart door lock is a security risk. Those are Alexa's words for why she is being blocked from running my routine. It will no longer LOCK the door by routines. This is after Google had this change of heart after having it work to unlock my door by voice (and code) exactly one time, after that Gemini just said no voice, but maybe buying more stuff would allow voice to work. Gemini suggested I put a device near the door and stand outside yelling my code loud enough for the device to hear it. LOL Do not buy this or any other smart lock if your intention is to use it as a smart lock, corporate security theater will make the lock worthless. As a fingerprint reader so far it is working tolerably but that alone is not worth $135 let alone $200 to me. ----------- Fix your skill. Alexa can see it but she can't unless the app is recently opened. Alexa can't see if the door is opened or closed at all so the sensor that came with the door is useless. The Philips app can see everything it's just not letting Alexa see it. Because of this blindness the main reason I got the lock doesn't work, nothing from the lock can be used as a trigger if Alexa can't see it. Hey Google also has problems with it after initially setting it up and having it work. That was the first and last time it worked. Not too good having smart home devices that don't work with the smart home assistants. Secondary reason I got the lock, fingerprint keyless unlocking works although fine tuning the door so the weak motor can lock it may be too much for some people and of course if the door sags in the future that could present an unexpected problem that needs fixed before you can leave the house. ... show more

I’m giving 4-stars because unfortunately it stopped working 6-months in…however, the customer support I received went way beyond my expectations! They had a whole new lock shipped to me within a day of me calling about my issue and Nicole even followed up two months later to check in & see how the new lock was working out for us. Love knowing if the kids locked the door at night after I get into bed. Now that they don't need keys to use the door, they have stopped using the garage opener as a front door. Finger scanner works 90% of the time. It is nice having the personal codes and a key for backup. The app works great. Links to Google home and easy to unlock with voice control. Love the 3 minute automatic lock function. The app will alert me when and who unlocks the door instantly. It also keeps a history of usage. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

yes and beware I bought this to replace a yale bridge lock I had that stopped working. Now that it is installed almost, the lock works better than he old one did. I would tell people beware of one thing. I needed my brother in law's help (true handyman) as one of the mounting bolts would not fit. He had to work on it for 45 minutes to get one bolt to go (he will look for a replacement bolt for the other and redo weather stripping that comes with it) - lock is up and running).
