I’d like to start out my saying I’ve bought 2 of these locks and absolutely love them! They are easy to install, work great and the price and convenience is spot on. Exactly what we wanted! With that said ..I kinda wanted to touch on an issue I had with the second one. It stopped working after 2 months. Where I thought this was going to make me upset and frustrated having to deal with customer service on figuring out the issue or what to do, I was just going to save my sanity and buy a different brand and change it out. But to my surprise, the customer support was amazing! They promptly got with me to resolve the issue with a firmware update and didn’t give up until the issue was resolved and I was satisfied and happy. Nicole (didn’t get a last name) was on it!! She texted, emailed and followed up every step of the way! The 5 star isn’t only about the product.. but mostly about the customer service! I bought a couple of these to check out the fingerprint scanner functionality. I was so impressed with how well it worked and how long the batteries last, then I bought a bunch more to use on doors throughout the house. It is frustrating to have to add fingerprints to each door handle, but, at least I know the biometrics are stored locally, and the device does not require access to the Internet once a fingerprint are stored. This is a great looking smart door lock - it’s sleek and has a nice glass finish on the key pad. The hand functions nice and feels sturdy. It was fairly easy to install and set up via the app. I was able to set a code and put in a finger print with no problem. The 2 things I don’t love. 1. It takes EIGHT AA batteries. I’ve only had the unit installed for a week so don’t know how long it will last, but I’m hoping for a minimum of 10-12 months for that amount of batteries. 2. The inside handle box is so tall, it won’t allow for a deadbolt on standard doors. This is a design oversight. The work around is to install the inside unit upside down. That works, but it looks a bit odd. Overall it’s a good smart lock with a couple of downsides. I gave 4 stars, but would knock it down to 3 if the battery drains quickly. ... show more

This door lock has been a nice convience for our air BNB. It allows us to change door code without being by the door. It lets you know in the app when they check in. It was easy to install. Connected to wifi easily. Fingerprint sensor has worked well so far. I like that the app allows multiple door locks on it and they don't have to be at one place. I do wish that they could be linked with the same user codes on each door if wanted. It does take a bit to input all the user codes for multiple doors and if you want to use fingerprint you have to do it for each door. I am not the biggest fan of the digital touch pad as it does not always respond to my first touch to turn it on, but it has always has turned on with another touch. A complete waste of time, It worked for about 5 minuets as it should. Then it kept saying the door was unlocked and the handle will move but it is not unlocking the door. the app was even worse. you would click unlock it will show the animation as it is working and it will go from "locked" back to "locked". finally opened the door with a crowbar since the handle stopped functioning and now are returning this. we bought this since it was Philips and i did not want to waste my time with a off brand but now it seems like this is worse then the off brand. what a bad experience.. shame on you Philips ...but then again they did sell out to a chinese investment company so i guess that explains it ... show more

    • Works well for the price and for what I need
I didn't need anything fancy, I just wanted to lock and unlock my door easily and allow my kid to get into the house in an emergency with his fingerprint (he actually likes the code better). For that, it works really well. Here's a breakdown: Ease of installation - it's dead simple if you already have a deadbolt. Just pay attention to little things like which screws go where and how the old one is setup. I also recommend changing out the strike plate (the metal part connected to the doorframe) with the Phillips one because it seems bigger than my old one. The other one screwed up the unit and made it lockup but worked fine after I changed it out. The hardest part of the whole thing is figuring out the cord between the two units. Oh and the door sensor instructions are not clear. Just put it level to the top of the unit and it should work. I had to move mine because it wasn't clear where they wanted it. Ease of setup - pretty easy as well. I had my fingerprints in the system in about 5 minutes (4 fingers total). Another 5m for my kid. It also has you adjust the door to make sure it knows when it's open/closed. It screwed up at first but seems to be working fine now. Ease of daily use - it's just been a day but I get how it works pretty easily. It will auto-lock after you leave, but you can just use your fingerprint to get back in if you left something. My kid is short so his fingerprints do not register that well. However, he likes the code better anyway, and that works just fine. Mine work perfectly. You can also open the app and use that. It's pretty quick. There's just one gripe so far. There's a button on the unit itself that seems to just lock the door only. Every Airbnb I've ever been in (that uses a cheap knockoff of this) that button will close AND open the door. The mechanism to open is smooth and easy, but the button only good for one way is an odd choice and not that useful. ... show more
