  • Finally, Rechargeables That Actually Behave Like Real Batteries
I've been through several generations of rechargeable AA batteries over the years, and the frustration with NiMH cells has always been the same: they run at 1.2 volts instead of 1.5, and a surprising number of devices either perform sluggishly or refuse to recognize them as fully charged. My wireless keyboard would throw a low-battery warning with NiMH cells fresh off the charger, and the handheld ham radio I use on weekends is noticeably less punchy with anything below a true 1.5V source. That persistent annoyance is what pushed me toward these Philips lithium-ion rechargeables, and I'm glad I finally made the switch. The constant 1.5V output is the main event here, and it delivers exactly as advertised. Dropped a set into the ham radio and the RF output behaved exactly the way it does with fresh alkalines. The keyboard stopped complaining immediately. I also tested them in a portable digital camera and a battery-operated desk fan, with clean results in both. The charger itself is genuinely well thought out. It's a magnetic flip-lid case that doubles as storage, so the batteries always have a home when they're not in use. Each of the eight slots has its own LED indicator, which cycles through flashing green for charging, solid green for full, and red for a fault condition. Charging via USB-C is convenient, though the included cable is on the short side and I swapped it out for a longer one I already had on hand. One behavioral quirk worth knowing before you buy: these lithium cells hold their voltage right up until they're nearly depleted, then drop off quickly. With NiMH or alkaline batteries you usually get some warning, a device slowing down or a low-battery indicator tripping while there's still a little juice left. With these, the device runs at full performance until it doesn't, and then it stops. That's not a flaw so much as a characteristic of lithium chemistry, but if you've been relying on gradual performance degradation as your mental reminder to swap batteries, you'll need to adjust your habits. Also important: the charger does not work with NiMH cells. I tested it and the slots flashed red, so this is a dedicated lithium-only system. If you have devices that are genuinely picky about voltage or that you rely on for anything important, these are a serious upgrade over traditional rechargeables. The 1200-cycle rating means you could theoretically use these daily for years before seeing meaningful capacity loss, and with 3600mWh per cell, runtime has been excellent across everything I've tested. The all-in-one charger and storage case keeps everything organized and reduces the usual clutter of scattered batteries and a separate charger. Anyone running smart locks, wireless audio gear, high-drain remotes, or communication devices would benefit most from this setup. ... show more

  • Travel friendly battery charging solution Travel friendly battery charging solution
I have been using this Philips rechargeable AA set for a bit now, and the combination of high capacity and steady 1.5V output has made it a reliable option for the devices I use most often. They have a strong runtime, and the constant voltage means my devices perform the same from start to finish rather than slowly weakening as the charge drops. The long cycle life is another thing I appreciate. With more than 1200 recharge cycles and a low self‑discharge rate, these feel like a practical long‑term option, especially for anything that tends to burn through batteries quickly. The charger design is tidy and convenient. The magnetic setup that combines charging and storage keeps everything in one place, and the eight independent slots make it easy to charge only what I need. I also like that it uses a USB cable. That makes it great for travel as well as in‑home use since I can plug it into the same ports I already use for other devices. These have worked well in higher‑demand electronics such as controllers, cameras, lights, and small household gadgets. The steady output helps everything run smoothly. Overall, this is a pretty good set, while at 39$, the price feels a little high, but since the batteries are included it is not terrible. The overall performance and convenience help balance it out. ... show more

  • High-Performance Batteries and Charger
This set includes eight high-capacity 3600mWh Lithium-ion AA batteries and a dedicated fast charger. If you are used to standard alkaline or even NiMH rechargeables, these are a clear step up in terms of consistent power delivery. Performance and Compatibility These batteries provide a constant 1.5V output, which is what you need for high-drain devices that are finicky with the lower voltage of NiMH cells. One specific use that comes to mind is my automatic battery operated pepper grinder, which struggles to grind pepper even when I use alkalines. With these inside, it actually works the way I need it to. One important note: the included charger appears to be specifically for lithium-ion batteries. When I tested it with some of my old NiMH rechargeables, the indicators flashed red, so you'll want to stick to Lithium-ion batteries. Charger Design The charger is nicely designed. It features a flip-lid with a magnetic closure. It also doubles as a storage container. There is an individual LED indicator for each of the eight slots, so you can see the exact charge state of every battery at a glance. It uses a standard USB-C port; the included cord is a bit on the short side, but since it’s a standard connection, it’s easy to swap in a longer one if needed. Value At $40, this is a premium price for a battery set. However, the combination of the 8 high-capacity lithium batteries and a high-quality, 8-slot magnetic charger makes it worth it to me. You can certainly find cheaper rechargeable options, but not with this specific output quality and build. TL;DR: Powerful 1.5V lithium-ion AAs that outperform standard rechargeables. The magnetic storage/charger base is sleek and functional. Rating: 5/5 — Superior battery technology paired with a well-engineered charger. Worth the premium for the reliability and design. ... show more

  • Convenience from a trusted brand... Convenience from a trusted brand...
Product arrived on time, as described, and packaged properly for shipping. Honestly, I haven't bought rechargeable batteries in years. I enjoyed the convenience of having rechargeable batteries and the money I saved by not having to continually buy batteries. Overtime they were lost, I couldn't remember what they were put in, they were took out of electronics and not put in the charger, etc etc. Here recently, I have found myself in need of rechargeable batteries once again. I had a second child much later in life than the first and toys and toys once again. We go thru anywhere from 8 to 16 batteries every week or so. There's several toys that are absolute favorites and are played with constantly. I was super excited when this set was offered. I noted that they are name brand and not some random generic brand. I knew they were worth a try and I wouldn't be disappointed. I charged them when they first arrived (like instructions say) and then placed in a couple toys that are played with constantly. We haven't had the batteries long but so far they're all still working on a single charge. Over time I'm sure I'll notice the convenience of rechargeables once again and surely I'll notice the cost savings as well. Batteries are super expensive and it'll definitely be nice to cut back on the quantity I'm having to purchase. Everything is great so far, no complaints. I highly recommend. If I notice any issues I will return and edit my review. Also, I really like the indicator lights. I believe they flash when charging and stay lit when fully charged. ... show more

  • Strong Performance and Convenient Charger Strong Performance and Convenient Charger
I bought these mainly for devices that do not perform well with standard NiMH rechargeables, such as certain electronics that expect a steady 1.5V output. Compared to typical rechargeable AA batteries, these lithium batteries definitely perform more like regular alkaline batteries in terms of voltage consistency and power delivery. Devices that tend to complain about “low battery” too early with NiMH cells seem to run much more reliably with these. The downside is price. These are considerably more expensive than ordinary rechargeable AAs like Eneloop-style NiMH batteries, so they are probably overkill for low-drain devices such as clocks or remote controls. On the other hand, for higher-drain or voltage-sensitive devices, the performance difference is noticeable. The included charger helps justify the cost somewhat since you are not required to buy a separate charging system. Charging speed has been good so far, and the batteries appear to hold charge well in storage. I also like that the charger doubles as a storage case. However, one ergonomic issue bothered me: the charging cable connects to the lid instead of the main body of the charger. That makes it slightly awkward to handle while plugged in, especially when opening or repositioning the case. Build quality overall seems solid, and the batteries have worked reliably in my testing. I still think standard NiMH rechargeables remain the better value for many everyday uses, but these lithium AAs fill a useful niche where stable voltage and stronger performance matter more than initial cost. ... show more

  • Rechargeable high-capacity lithium batteries that are convenient and long-lasting. Rechargeable high-capacity lithium batteries that are convenient and long-lasting.
Stars: 5 Heading: Rechargeable high-capacity lithium batteries that are convenient and long-lasting. I love having these rechargeable lithium batteries in place of the standard NiMH ones. The constant 1.5V voltage output is a huge step up. I am using these mostly in items/devices that tend to drain batteries quickly, such as my lighted wall clocks. I have an indoor and an outdoor one, and they take two batteries each just for the lighting part. One clock uses motion sensing, and the other stays on from dusk to dawn. Batteries don’t last long! It’s so nice to have lithium batteries ready to replace, recharge, and use again. It was getting expensive to replace standard lithium batteries on the clocks. I will use them in my TV remote and door lock once the standard batteries in those die. This pack includes 8 batteries, which gives me spares ready to use when I need them. The flip-top charging case is very durable and actually looks pretty cool, even though that shouldn’t matter. Each slot charges the battery separately, so you can charge and store at the same time. The charging time is decent. The charging cord is Type-C to Type-C. The high 3600 mWh capacity means I have to change them less often. And with 1200 rechargeable cycles, they should last me a good long time. Phillips is a household brand name. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed the quality that Phillips offers. So far, the batteries have performed well and are lasting a long time in the clocks. These batteries aren’t cheap, but they perform well and are worth the price. ... show more
