simple to install is the great thing about this brand as opposed to others.. it took two minutes per Bob to install. Do not buy the compatible brand. The Hue bridge needs Hue bulbs

I've been using Hue bulbs for probably about 8 years, and due to the cost, I have slowly added more over time until nearly every bulb in my house is a Hue bulb. Longevity is great; I've yet to have a single one stop working. Colors are also great, the only color I've found that it doesn't do exceedingly well is purple. The app has always lacked features like customizable animations that other bulbs and apps have. However, the bulbs will work with a lot of other apps. Philips is starting to catch up, though. They've started adding animations, but the color is the only customizable thing. The sync feature is also really cool. You can sync each bulb to an area of your screen. You'll need to buy the expensive sync box for a regular TV, but I use a PC with a projector in my living room, so I only needed to download the free Windows app on my PC. The lights can also be set to customizable routines within the app, which is handy. I have my porch light set to come on at sunset and turn off at sunrise. ... show more

Came in on time, but box was ripped open. 2 bulbs were loose in the bag. No bulbs were damaged. Card with QR code was missing but was able to use the QR codes on the bulbs themselves.
