Features

  • Wider light effect: No matter how far it's placed from the wall, the Play wall washer covers three times as much surface in colorful light as other wall washers.
  • ColorCast technology: The first of its kind, our innovative design of precisely arranged LEDs projects color like no other gradient light.
  • Powerful display: Offering up to 1035 lm, this wall washer can shine bright. Ultra-low dimming means it can also become a beautiful backdrop or nightlight.
  • High-quality materials: It's made from aluminum with a matte finish, meaning you won't catch any glare from the TV off the light itself.
  • Compact design: Despite its powerful light output, the Play wall washer is small in size only 15,7 cm x 9,1 cm meaning it fits in smaller spaces, such as on a crowded TV stand or sideboard.

Description

Featuring a wide illumination area and surprisingly compact design, the Play wall washer is the ultimate TV enhancement. ColorCast technology and a sleek aluminum design make it the perfect colorful accent for your home theater (or anywhere else).

  • A Bright New Experience
I've recently added the Philips Hue Play Smart Wall Washer to my living space and it's been a delightful addition. I initially bought it to enhance the ambiance of my home office, but it quickly became a staple in multiple rooms thanks to its versatility. First off, the setup was surprisingly straightforward. I’m not particularly tech-savvy, but pairing it with my phone through Bluetooth was a breeze. Once connected, I dove into the wide spectrum of colors it offers. From vibrant hues for an energetic start to my mornings, to soft pastels for a relaxing evening, this light does it all. One of the features I find incredibly handy is the voice control. Whether I'm using Alexa or my Google Assistant, changing colors and brightness is just a command away. It feels incredibly modern to adjust the lighting while I’m multitasking, not having to lift a finger. I also experimented with integrating it into my existing smart home setup, and it syncs beautifully with other smart devices. For movie nights, I set it to coordinate with the action on the screen, creating an immersive experience that my family and I have come to love. The ColorCast Technology truly makes a difference, offering a richer, more vibrant display than other lights I’ve tried in the past. I’ve even received compliments from friends and family who have noticed the enhanced atmosphere when they visit. Overall, the Philips Hue Play Smart Wall Washer has added a dynamic touch to my home, and I find myself wondering how I managed without it. Whether you’re tech-savvy or tech-shy, this light fixture is accessible and genuinely enriches the home environment. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to brighten up their space in a creative way! ... show more

  • Expensive but gorgeous light, awesome if you’re in the Hue ecosystem
There’s no way around it: Hue stuff is premium and expensive. However, for smart lighting, it just works. And honestly for me, that is worth every penny. I’ve spent a lot of money trying different brands, and I always go back to Hue after much frustration. Things don’t generally disconnect, it integrates mostly well with all the home automation apps. I’ve done all sorts of set up, from complex Zigbee and customizable Home Assistant ones to basic Apple Home stuff, and really Hue has been the most consistently good. It just works — that’s so important that I will repeat it. This wall wash itself is awesome. It’s premium and the shell is powder coated black and it is weighty. It throws the light really well even at shorter distances. It works really well with the sync box (but talk about another expensive piece of equipment…), and works well without it too. But the best part is the gradients. Man, it is gorgeous. No lines, perfect gradients right out of the box. I am in awe of it. Don’t buy Hue if you are looking for value. In my opinion, Hue is the top end for most regular consumers. If you want ultra customizeability and want to fiddle with complex integrations and networking and all that, maybe you’ll be happier off without Hue, but even then, I think the simplicity of Hue just makes it still worth it. This is a great light and I’m very happy with it. ... show more

  • Absolutely useless at this price-point; zero value, utter disappointment.
I was looking forward to this as I'm upgrading my analog entertainment set-up for the digital age, finally, and... wow. This throws LESS LIGHT (ambient or otherwise) than a $20 lava-lamp used for mood lighting in a dorm-chic crashpad decades ago. This is little more than a nightlight which is controllable on my phone... the value here is BARELY into the double-digits of dollars, let alone triple. I am beyond confused: is there actually a market for this sort of thing, at this price tier? I was expecting to actually see the wall washed with light, but this is LESS illumination and ambient cast than a $9 flashlight hanging on a keychain. I'm absolutely confused by what this is supposed to do, and why. Placed behind my 55" TV, which is NOT a large TV in this current age and market, the light is 100% diffused and dimmed before it even reaches the top of the TV area. It is just a bright spot on the wall DIRECTLY in front of the Hue unit, with virtually no reach/spread of light beyond that--- it isn't "washing the wall" with light and color, it is just drawing power and making clutter and cable-management needs higher. Absolute garbage. Also, the app to run the controls wasn't even the top choice in the App store for this product, and the initial downloads were trying to force for a _paid subscription service_ to control a light which throws less visual enhancement than a light-up dog toy. I'm baffled. This is functionally useless, and the color range don't even seem to reflect accurate gradient. ... show more
