I set this Hue bulb up over Bluetooth in minutes, then later added it to my Hue Hub so it syncs with the rest of the house. Colors are vibrant, whites get bright enough to replace a standard bulb, and voice control through Alexa has been flawless. Great starter or expansion bulb if you’re building a smart lighting system. After looking at a lot of different smart lights I did end up settling on the Philips hue because of their ease of use and integration with Apple home kit. From a functional set up standpoint they are insanely easy to use as they basically just work if you follow the simple steps they give you. I initially didn't use a bridge, and they do work with just bluetooth but if you want to use homekit or any of the other apps that are integrated with Hue, you're going to want a hub. As far as the actual light goes, they are very responsive, colors are accurate but I found them not to be as saturated as I would hope. I had a pair of cheap color changing lights (with a remote) before these that I think looked better from a light standpoint. Not to say these are bad, but they could be better. Definitely glad for the 1100 lumen option though, I don't think the 800 lumen would have been enough.

As usual, Philips has the best quality lighting. Perfect reproduction of color, can be both internet connected, and local-only. While still plastic, isn't cheap or easy to break, fits just like any other light bulb. Local-only setups are snappy to react to requests, and I have even had fast, really instantaneous updates with home-assistant. It also dims fine using light dimmers, but compatibility will depend on the dimmer.
