I am really into muslin, and have tried a number of 100% cotton muslin blankets from Amazon (emme, loves cabin, bedsure, cosy family…). Kinda went overboard, but it was worth it because it lead me to this one — the first cotton-rayon blend of the bunch, and the last blanket(s) I’ll ever need. Most of the other blankets I noted were returned because they were too small or not soft enough to be in contact with our skin at night. We’ve been using the LC one for the last couple weeks because it’s big enough and soft enough to pass, and I didn’t think there was a better option. It’s about two gauze layers too thin to be warm enough at night, but way too hot doubled up, so I went looking for a thinner/cooler blanket and found these. The king size fits our queen bed great, even with two humans in it, with about a foot and a half of drape on either side. Note that this is not a stretchy blanket, so I’m still mindful about keeping my edge where it should be (my partner is especially prone to burritoing himself in his sleep). I put it in the wash right out of the package, using the delicate cycle on my washer with unscented laundry detergent, and drying it on delicate/tumble dry low with some wool dryer balls. It took two cycles to get it fully dry — putting a soft microfiber bath towel in there sped up the process nicely without risking potential damage from a rougher terry cloth towel or hotter/stronger dryer cycle. All of our bedding is beige (I love beige), but I chose the white version of this blanket first to shake things up a little. It looks beautiful (especially when layered), as does the natural/shortbread one I purchased shortly after the first to replace the cotton muslin one we were using as the top layer before. Note: The textures of the white vs beige are slightly different, with the white being a little softer (both washed the same way). If you look closely at the ad photos, you can see the white has a little more “brushed fluff” on the surface than the beige one. But they’re both softer than any of the cotton muslin blankets I’ve felt, which is saying something, and I expect they will continue to soften with each wash. They feel buttery-smooth yet incredibly cozy, providing enough weight to feel grounding but light enough not to smother. You just have to feel it for yourself, as the sheer level of softness is genuinely hard to describe. It is absolutely perfect to use right up against sensitive skin in lieu of a top sheet — I can’t imagine anything different being more comfortable. Two of these layered makes for a really cozy-looking (and feeling) bed, and keeps us the perfect temperature in our ~67° apartment. I didn’t expect much of the cooling claims, but they actually do feel cooler to lie under compared to nearly-identical 100% cotton muslin. While both are neutral & breathable, this one just has a more temp-regulating, almost silk-like quality to it. When I finally snuggled up in bed, my first thought was “I want ten more of these.” Instead of ten, I started by ordering the natural/shortbread one, and am about to order another white one as a laundry day backup. I honestly don’t know how long these will hold up considering rayon is not known for its durability, but they washed really nicely and appear to have well-stitched edges. Frankly, even if they give out quicker than we hope, I’d happily get replacements as long as they’re available at a reasonable price. If you couldn’t tell already, I absolutely do recommend these if you’re in the market for incomprehensibly feathery-soft blanket layers to maintain a comfortable temperature all night. For further temp regulation, I suggest going with all cotton and/or bamboo bedding, and getting a natural latex mattress topper (it doesn’t retain heat like memory foam!). ... show more

In a nutshell, I love this blanket! Am in the throes of menopause and run hot or cold, zero in between. This muslin blanket is perfect for snuggling up, yet lightweight and cooling enough that I don't overheat. It's also very soft, as soft as quality microfleece and without any of the fuzz factor. I machine washed (on cold) and dried it (low) before use and it puffed up a bit and was even softer. Gave it a bit of a stretch whilst damp and it did not noticeably shrink in the dryer. It has just enough weight that it definitely qualifies as a blanket, yet it's still light enough to not feel smothered. Have a feeling this is going to be the ideal layer for summer with the evaporative cooler running. So pleased with the purchase that I intend to buy another one. Just buy this blanket! I’ve been searching for years for a lightweight yet cozy blanket. I’m a hot sleeper year round and only ever use a sheet and one thin blanket and this one is perfect, very soft and generously sized. I washed it before using and it fluffs up even more. Like many people here point out it’s impossible to hang this or lay it out flat to dry so I put it in the dryer on low and monitored carefully. It didn’t shrink. I’m buying more. ... show more

I mainly purchased this specific blanket because the Prussian Blue is the exact color I was looking for and looks exactly as the color on the Amazon site. By day this blanket works as beautiful textured flowy layering at the foot of my king size bed. By night we pull it up over our bedding to protect the quilt from our 55 lb standard poodle. The blanket is only 4 layers so it is very thin as would be expected, it is also very soft. This extra layer doesn’t add any weight or heat while we are sleeping. Very little lint and shrinkage when using cold water, hand wash cycle, tumble dry on low and removing while it is still just a little damp. The blanket does have an occasional pick but very few, and in my experience is not unusual for this type of material. I only gave 4 stars because I don’t want people to think that this is the very best blanket of its kind but I do believe it’s terrific quality for the price point- so 5 stars for that. P.S. … my dog doesn’t dig or scratch at covers. I don’t imagine this would stand up to the dogs that do that. ... show more

I have been on a quest for a few years now to find the perfect blanket for my husband and I who are hot sleepers. We do not use a sheet and prefer just a light blanket on our king size bed. I’ve tried every linen and 100% cotton blanket out there, as well as everything marketed as a “cooling” blanket. None of them fit the bill. This one is extremely promising. Not too hot, super soft, amazing so far. This could be the one. I got the olive and it’s a beautiful color. Update after a few months: this blanket has only gotten softer. It washes and dries really well. Have washed it maybe 10 times and it’s still perfect. Softest blanket I have ever had. I just ordered a throw as well. My only complaint is there’s no pillow cases to match the olive! ... show more

This might be my favorite blanket that I have ever had. It is so soft and so comfortable. I get the night sweat sometimes, but not when I use this blanket. It’s the perfect weight and just the feel of it sort of reminds you of childhood. I got it in the white. The only thing I would recommend is buying a size up. It just seems a little on the small side. I can imagine if there were two people sleeping in the bed. It might pull off of one of the people during the night. The next one I buy is gonna be a king for my queen size bed. But it’s washed well every time and it seems to be made well and durable. Love it! Will be buying more. ... show more
