I've tried quite a few dish sets over the years and I think this might be one of my favorites. Let me tell you why... it's the square plates! They're the exact perfect size to hold a sandwich and being square they look like they're made for a sandwich! I know... so silly... but for some reason it makes me so happy. I also really like the shallow bowls which are great for soup and salads. The larger plates get less use in our house but are also very nice. I've always liked the quality of this brand and this set is no exception. High quality, well made, and absolutely beautiful. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

I am really impressed with this set of dinnerware, it’s absolutely beautiful. Pfaltzgraff’s craftsmanship is superb, there are no flaws to speak of. The stoneware is extremely smooth and has a subtle sheen. The dinner plates are large, which I love, they are approx 11” in diameter. The edge of the plates have a nice upward slope which will go far in keeping food on your plate, nothing worse than a flat plate. The salad plates are also a nice size, no problem accommodating a nice serving. Can’t say enough about the bowls, they will certainly work well for soups, stews, etc. What I truly love about the dinnerware is the blue floral pattern, which has a bit of nostalgia. The backsides are all blue which is a nice contrast with the floral pattern. I can’t say enough about the weight, all pieces are nice & thick, both heavy & sturdy. Best part, microwave and dishwasher safe! The dinnerware is substantial, definitely worth the cost, would certainly make a wonderful gift! I do want to mention that the packaging is done really well. Each set of dishes is in a sturdy cardboard box. Those 3 boxes are inside one large cardboard box which is even thicker and that box is inside another box, no chance of breakage.
