Pros: - All the power you should need. I live in a very hilly area and only need to pedal to assist the motor up the very steepest hill (it's a struggle to walk up that one and would be unsafe to sled down). - As simple as a kit like this can get. There are a lot of things that need to be done to safely convert a bike, and I can't think of any step that wasn't already as simple as possible. - Excellent display and controller. Does everything I want, viewable in direct sunlight. - Insanely cheap. For me it was cheaper to buy this kit, a battery, and a bike (if I didn't have one already) than a much lower-spec e-bike premade. - Good build quality. None of the parts feel fragile, and I'm not worried about them failing prematurely. Cons: - Had to widen the dropout on my bike to fit the motor. The rear dropout on my bike was 135mm wide, and I had to widen it to 150mm to fit the wheel. Fortunately my frame is steel, so a few minutes pulling the forks apart (and then re-straightening the dropouts) did the trick. ... show more

Everything came well-packaged. The assembly was relatively easy, and I was happy to see everything looked okay at first glance. But after having the system assembled I noticed there was some faulty wiring with the controller box. I bought a Bafang headlight and hooked it up to the headlight wires (hold the down button to turn headlight on/off) but found the headlight only shutoff with the power rather than the intended switch. Which means the controller's wiring has a problem. Additionally the PAS isn't working and there is no way to access several functions in the settings panel (P011-P015). The latter might be mine own fault, but have read similar problems from other consumers, and the headlight function can only be a controller defect. That said, I am trying to get support from customer service. Overall, I would recommend getting a 1500watt motor, making sure you have the right wheel, and exploring other companies; perhaps with a better market-footprint. ... show more

It's in it's 7th frame since I got it last year. Over 9000 miles on it and it's not slowing down. Now running at 72v on a 50a controller, this thing is a beast.

between a 20 ah battery, the 1000 watt motor, the extra large frame, and 29 inch mountain bike tires, this kit is a lot to handle. install was relatively simple and i even traded it off of the 29in mtb to a 26 inch with dual suspension to see if i could increase maneuverability, but not enough of a difference for me! max distance on full throttle has been a whimpy 23 miles. speed upwards of 35 MPH though which is something i was thrilled with off the first ride. simply, unless you have a crazy nice battery, 1000W is going to be too much weight and too much power being drawn at once from the battery. if you do get this motor, buy a separate compatible throttle because the turn one sucks and is too sensitive. probably going to look into mid drives next because pennsylvania is too hilly for hub motors. ... show more

Have Installed much more expensive "name brand" kits in the past but decided to try this low priced kit on a conversion of an old tricycle. I was impressed from the start. The item was packaged extremely well and survived the trip across the ocean with no issues. The drive wheel is a very heavy duty double walled rim. All other parts appear to be of a quality build. Perhaps what impressed me the most was their written installation booklet complete with pictures. Also, if this is not enough, they have a complete series of installation videos on YouTube. Because of all of this, install went quickly with no back tracking. I completed the conversion, including dressing all the cables and making adjustments, in about 2 hours. I ordered the battery and kit and I literally did everything right yet it still doesn't work! I'm just gonna get an ebike instead I'm never getting kits again after what I've dealt with I'm not doing it. It doesn't work I charged it up and still does work I test it out see if it spins and it doesn't. Don't buy this product save your time and money and never get this kit at all ever ... show more

The inner tube that came with my kit had a gaping slash in it. And the motor controller seems to vibrate the wheel near top speed. The vibration is definitely an issue with the motor controller because it only vibrates when pushing the throttle. Acceleration is very smooth at low speeds so I do not think it is an issue with the hall sensors in the motor, but I do not know. Other than that the bike works fine. The motor controller gets a little bit hot in the bag but it is still fine to touch so I'm not too worried about it. ... show more
