Key features we needed were 1) our dog has trouble stepping up with her back legs into anything that’s on legs or has a raised door lip, even with blankets she can now walk into this one as it’s completely flat with no step up. 2) we have a second door option if needed, the side opens up completely. So when you travel or when it’s hot you can have two sides open. This item is perfect. We add a blanket on top when it’s cold for more insulation. Plenty of space in a medium for our 13lb terrier. She is constantly rearranging her blankets like it’s an apartment and she’s redecorating. I originally got this crate three years ago for my medium poodle puppy. It held up great for 3 whole years with no issues, rips, or tears. We then recently rescued a chihuahua-mix 6 month old puppy who loved getting in my poodles crate and she chewed out one of the velcro attachments on the main flap, which is not the crates fault obviously. Eventually she made a big hole in it so we decided to get another one after 3 years of use. My poodle likes to dig before going to sleep to find her comfy spot and upon getting her the new crate, it easily started ripping, unlike the old one which we've had for years. It seems like they changed their material or something I don't know. This is her "nightly routine" for 3 years and there have been no issues, but now with the new one it doesn't seem to be holding up too well. I'm kinda bummed since I really loved the original one that I had. So I would recommend only if you have a doggy that isn't a big digger, otherwise, I don't think it'll hold up. ... show more

What did somethings bigger for my cat so she can stand up and walk around and this is perfect. It’s tall enough that she can comfortably stand up and walk around. She seems to like it.
