Frequently asked questions

The 48 inch BestPet Dog Crate is designed for large dogs. It provides ample space for breeds like German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, Great Danes, and other similar-sized dogs. Always make sure to measure your dog's height and length and compare it with the crate dimensions to ensure a comfortable fit.

Yes, this dog crate includes a divider panel. The divider is useful for adjusting the crate's size to suit your growing puppy's needs by creating a smaller, more secure space, which can help with house training and preventing destructive behavior.

The crate is designed for convenience with a folding mechanism that makes it simple to set up and fold down without tools, making it portable for traveling or moving around your home. Its design also includes a handle for carrying the folded crate.

The crate features a removable tray that slides out from under the crate. This makes it very easy to clean, as you can remove the tray, wash it, and slide it back in. The metal wire construction also allows for easy wipe-down in case of accidents or dirt.

๐Ÿš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The kennel reviewed by users appears to be suitable for calm, smaller to medium-sized pets, with several citing its ease of assembly and storage. Customers appreciate the size and sturdiness for less active animals. However, concerns are noted about the durability of the materials, especially with larger or more energetic pets who may attempt to escape or chew on the cage.

Pros

  • ๐Ÿ‘ Easy to assemble and store
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Two door options for convenience
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Adequate size for smaller to medium pets
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Divider included for multiple small pets
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Satisfactory weight and foldability for static use

Cons

  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Metal gauge may not withstand strong or large pets
  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Potential difficulty in replacing non-standard tray sizes
  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Latches can be flimsy and may bend or snag
  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Cage might not provide enough room for pets that require more exercise

Should I Buy It?

If you have a small to medium, well-behaved pet that doesn't require a heavily fortified enclosure, this kennel is a good choice for its ease of assembly and adequate size. However, if you own a larger, more active or stronger pet, or you're looking for a long-term, durable solution, you may want to consider a more robust option.

  • Nice crate for a nice price
Color: Black Pattern Name: 48"
My pitbull puppy outgrew his 36" crate, so I purchased the 48" one. Wow, so roomy! He really loves it. He's still growing, but will never need a crate bigger than this. It's like he has his own bachelor pad. I could have got him the 42", but I'm glad I got the bigger one (for only $3 more) because he likes stretching out in it when he sleeps. I can tell how proud he is to be in his new quarters. Sometimes his little "sister" who is 2 months younger and considerably smaller, so far, will wander in like she doesn't know it's not hers. (She also outgrew her crate, and has moved into her "brother's" old crate.) There is room enough for both of them to comfortably sit in there and visit. I really like this crate, but honestly, it's not any different than the other 2 crates I've bought, other than size. It's easy to set up and fairly sturdy. I don't expect to fold it up and move it, but most dog crates work the same way. I like that there are 2 doors. I do recommend cleaning the tray before putting your pup inside. There was a slight greasy residue from manufacturing that my dog was licking off and it made him gag. It could have been a something like furniture polish. A good spray-down with the garden hose fixed that, and now he's a very happy camper. ... show more

  • For toy sized puppies
Color: Black Pattern Name: 24"
The media could not be loaded. The 24 inch crate is SMALL. As in I am now upgrading to a 48 inch for my 4 month old runt Pomeranian to fit a small bed and a puppy pad. The 24โ€ is tiny, it does not close a doorway, does not fit a bed and pad. However in my video you see a pad and bed just know the bed is TINY and the pad is folded in half to fit which I donโ€™t recommend. Itโ€™s still good for traveling and folds up easily. The doors get stuck all the time tho which is frustrating. I think for $20 itโ€™s a good lay down spot for a toy/ xxs pet. My dog was about a lb and a half in the video. Heโ€™s now about 4 lbs and I am getting a 48 inch cage. Skip this size for a small dog unless itโ€™s strictly for travel purposes. ... show more

  • The handles are the best part!
Color: Black Pattern Name: 24"
The crate is sturdy and easy to use. The handles are the best part. My growing lab fit inside until about 6 months. Though, Iโ€™m sure I could have kept her in longer. I liked this brand so much, I ordered the larger one. Much more cost efficient than the Kong ones I have been using for years. Yet, the quality is similar, if not better. ... show more

  • PLEASE READ REVIEW
Color: Black Pattern Name: 48"
This is going to be a long review but I will do my best to explain why. I am a dog trainer for a living. I also have 3 dogs of my own. I have about 64 cages that I use for work and 6 more cages at my house. I say this to assure you I have experience with many different brands of cages this style. 1 - This cage is NOT the standard size normally sold at pet shops, dog training facilities, or basically anywhere else within the United States. Therefor if you ever need to replace the plastic tray bed inside the crate that the dog sleeps on, you will most likely ONLY be able to buy one from this company as the standard trays won't fit right. The reason for this is because of the width of the cage. This cage is 29.5 inches wide, but a standard American cage is 28.5 inches wide. So although you get 1 more inch of width, you most likely can't replace the tray bed should it break or get chewed. 2 - The height is also not the standard size. This cage is only 31 inches high while a standard cage is 33 inches high. This makes a big difference when you have a giant breed puppy like a mastiff who's still growing, playing, and stretching, in his bed. 3 - This cage length is 47 inches while a standard is 48 inches. This again presents a problem if you ever need to replace the tray inside the cage. 4 - This is the most important factor and why I will not be buying from this company again. The gauge of metal they use for this cage is not strong at all. My 4 month old Cane Corso puppy was able to bend two of the bars (with loose puppy teeth) and break off one of the welds. All I needed to do was use one finger and push it back in place. ONE FINGER PUSH is enough to bend the bars on this cage. This could actually be deadly if the situation was different. If this cage was in my car and I crashed it would have crushed completely. The other reason (and most important reason) this could be deadly is God forbid your dog bites a piece of the metal off and actually swallows the piece. This will most certainly lead to a wildly expensive vet visit and could also be fatal. Standard cages are very study and can even be used as a dresser or a shelf if you put a piece of plywood on top of it. Standard cages can hold over 100lbs (of evenly distrubuted weight) on top of plywood, on top of the cage, without even the slightest bit of sagging or drooping. Just 10 brand new unfolded medium sized cardboard boxes with nothing in them, was enough weight to make this cage sag in the middle. I needed a big strong cage for a big strong puppy while he learns and gets crate trained but this definitely isn't it. I gave this crate to my old 7 year old dog temporarily who has been crate trained for years, but I will still be replacing it soon and throwing it out. I'm just not willing to take the chance of the dogs getting a piece off and eating it. ... show more
