Description

The Premier Collar "Your Dog's Neck's Best Friend". With a leash or with your hand, the Premier collar tightens to give greater control and reduces the risk of escape. Because it offers limited closure, it's safer than a traditional choke collar . Unlike other collars, the measurement taken for the Premier Collar is at the top if the neck directly behind the ears. This corresponds with the size of the collar in the closed position, so it is not necessary to add inches. For example if your adult dog measures 14-inch directly behind the ears, choose a medium collar. Sizing recommendations 5-inch - 8-inch Petite, 8-inch - 12-inch Small, 10-inch - 16-inch Medium, 14-inch - 20-inch Large, 18-inch - 28-inch Extra Large. Once you've selected the proper size, simply place the larger opening over your dog's head. Adjust to fit by pushing the nylon through the slide. When tightened with a leash or by grasping the smaller nylon loop like a handle, the two metal rings should touch directly behind your dog's ears. Attach tags to these rings rather than the D-ring. The smaller nylon loop will lie flat after few days of wear.

  • The only collar that can save your dogs life.
Size: Medium (3/4" Width) Color: Red
These collars save dogs lives. I was walking down a on leash trail with my dogs when an off leash dog walking with its owner decided to attack my dog right at the last moment as we were passing by no indication no warning. With my reflexes I pulled my dog up (ouch a little for my dog) this tightened up on her neck and pulled her up into my arms and out of the other dogs reach so she only had a lot of slobber on her side instead of a bite. Her neck was fine not tweaked or weird or bruised or anything after this event I watched her for weeks to make sure. I truly believe that if I had a buckle collar on she would have slipped out of it and would have gotten a bad bite from the aggressive dog. My dog also has a walking harness and she can slip out of that if I pull up on it (simulating the dog attack) we've tested it to see which is more safe for her and walks and the collar wins every time. I volunteer at a shelter and we use these to walk our dogs in the only field walking space we have next to a very busy road and they truly save dogs lives by preventing all dogs from being able to slip a normal buckle collar. We use these for our tiniest chi to our larges pit-bulls and each one is safe. We do not use these as choke walking training collars we use either EZwalks or Gentile leaders in addition to these for walking behavior. These are very safe durable lovely collars for walking I highly recommend these collars they're gentle they don't choke because they only tighten around the neck if the dog is trying to pull or slip out. They get tight around the neck so the dog's head cant slip through and everybody is safe unharmed and happy. Please be aware you should never use this collar if you plan on sending your dog to a doggy day camp or other place where you have unsupervised play with random dogs get a cheap buckle collar for that and this for your walks. The D ring that pulls the neck can get grabbed by other dogs and cause your dog to choke and if it's too tight they can loose air. Only use these collars when you are walking and are close by in play groups where you can get involved to prevent collar biting and pulling during play. I do not leave these collars on my dogs when they are in the home I use them exclusively for walking the park and when im out and about and can supervise my dogs play and stop collar biting. ... show more

  • Perfect collars
Size: Large (1" Width) Color: Red
Great quality for the price- I was skeptical with how cheap they are but nope, they’re your average collar quality. Even comes with a tiny spot to add their name tag!!

  • Perfect No-Slip Dog Collar
Size: Medium (1" Width) Color: Deep Purple
I think I've left about 100 reviews on dog collars. I've been through many of them. So far this one has held up for about two months. One of my precious little sled dogs, named Coho, is the dog reincarnation of Houdini. She can escape harnesses, choke collars, leather collars, fabric collars, metal clasps, and plastic clips. You name it- she can maneuver her way out of it. This is the only dog collar I've ever used that she can't quite figure out how to escape from. They put some serious thought into this design and I love it. It slips on over the head and can then be tightened snug onto your pup. Coho is a relatively calm dog, so this was easy to do. But with other dogs who are more playful and energetic, getting them to sit still long enough to tighten this can be virtually impossible. I've had experience dealing with those pups too, but for this specific collar it went onto a dog that was really calm and she let me tighten it. 99% of the time it will remain in a loose state- which makes in comfortable for the dog to wear. But if the dog begins to pull, twist it's head, or try to escape, the collar tightens against the rope, leash, chain, or tie-line (whatever you're using). This makes it virtually impossible to escape from. This feature immediately made it five stars in my book. But what made it even better was the fact it's made out of thick, durable fabric that won't wear out easily. The clasps are metal- which means they won't break like plastic does. And the entire collar is made with quality in mind. The color of this collar is EXACTLY as pictured. It's a vibrant purple- almost lavender hue. Coho is a girly girl, but not really a 'pink' sort of dog. Purple was perfect for her! And it looks adorable contrasted with her black and white fur. Love the look! Love the quality! Couldn't have asked for a better collar. For the price it's unbeatable. ... show more

  • have my reservations...
Size: Large (1" Width) Color: Royal Blue
I chose to return this collar. I purchased 3. I have 3 dogs with thick necks, but small heads. I wanted a collar that was comfortable for daily wear, but that the dog couldn't back out of on lead. If I had intended to only put this on my dogs for walks, and then remove when we got home, then this would have worked. The collars did feel very solid. Although, the adjusting needed to fit the neck properly would make frequent "ons and offs" kind of a pain? However, my intent was to put it on, and leave it on. Two problems I didn't like- The premier collar has a fairly large choking loop. So much area was taken up by the choke loop, that I would worry about my kids accidentally hurting the dog by tugging too hard. In all fairness, this may be solved by my getting a smaller size? My dogs measurements were just on the edge between medium and large. I considered sending it back and trying medium...because the price is really quite fair, and the quality great. But, this brings me to problem 2. There is only one D ring...and it is, of course, on the choker loop. If you put the Dogs ID on that, it causes the choking loop to hang down. This seemed dangerous to me. It would clearly get caught on stuff and have the potential to choke the dog. But, the price is right, and the quality good. (although, I did notice the 1 inch collar was better material than the 3/4...the latter seemed to be "snaggy") I reviewed the product description and found the collar was described perfectly. I guess that I just didn't know what I was looking for until I tried it on the dog, and found it did not suit my purposes. I was able to find a Lupine collar that was perfect. Also, of course, on Amazon :) ... show more

  • Dangerous sizing seems off
Size: Small (3/4" Width) Color: Deep Purple
I have a miniature Australian shepherd puppy about 15 weeks old. Her neck measures right around 10-10 1/2”. Thinking this is perfect she is right in the wheelhouse. WRONG. The problem with this is the loop that closes where the leash attaches got caught around my dogs lower jaw and her teeth like a python hold it’s pretty firm backwards so I had to try and release the collar from her teeth and not injure her. So then I adjusted the collar as small as I could then led to the part that’s adjustable from 8-12” left that adjustment with so much slack that got caught on her lower teeth. That adjustment which then made it almost impossible to get it back over her head. So if I adjust it perfectly the slack from the adjustable part with the slack from the section the leash connects to leaves just enough for her to get her lower jaw caught. I have tried every adjustment and either I can’t get it over her head with the smallest adjustment or it leaves too much for her to get her lower jaw caught. She is a puppy and Australian shepherds especially the miniature kind have very short snouts. This one in the small size 8-12” was dangerous for her. Keep into consideration your pets shape before considering one of these where there is just enough room for it to become disastrous. I can’t go smaller because it won’t fit and I certainly can’t go larger. This design has a flaw for certain breeds at certain ages. When she grows maybe this will not be an issue but if you understand puppy’s everting goes into their mouths. I can’t even try waking her because the second there is slack she finds a way to get her jaw caught. Now she is afraid of this collar because it caused her pain me trying to get it unhooked from her razor sharp teeth. Just be very careful of your pups snout because this is a real problem for my puppy. Who weighs about 11 pounds last weight and 10 1/2” neck . ... show more

  • Not as durable as I'd like
Size: Large (1" Width) Color: Red
Because we are thinking of moving, we haven't fenced our back yard and are using a trolley system for our dog for now. My dog runs around a lot when he's on the trolley, so his collar gets more wear and tear on a daily basis than most. After only 3 months, I noticed significant fraying/unraveling on one edge of the collar from where the metal ring would rub it. It looked bad, but the collar still held up, so I just trimmed away the loose threads. Now at 5 months, it's badly frayed again. I'll trim it again, but obviously I can't keep doing this. The last collar we used was the same adjustable style but a different brand. Even after about a year of use on the trolley, it never frayed, but finally the plastic release buckle simply snapped and my dog ran away for a few hours. So when I bought this nylon collar, I expected the nylon to be more durable than it has been. Pros: - adjustable collar only tightens if my dog pulls on the leash (seems more comfortable) - nylon is easy to wash and dry - low price and several vibrant colors to choose from - my escape artist dog cannot slip out of the collar (unless you grab the wrong part of the collar, thus preventing it from tightening properly. You have to grab the smaller loop, where you would attach the leash) Cons: - not as durable as I'd like (though with average use it would probably be ok) - only comes in basic solid colors; could be too plain for some - this collar seems more prone to user error than regular collars. There is an initial setup period where you have to adjust it to the proper size for your dog's neck (I just kept tightening it until my dog could no longer slip his collar). Of course, every collar has this initial setup period, but people seem to think they can skip this step because the collar will automatically tighten. They put on a collar that is too big, and then they get mad because their dog escaped. Or they put on a collar that is too small so that when the collar tightens, their dog is literally choking. When properly adjusted, this collar should never cut off your dog's air supply, even if it gets tangled on something. It is designed so that it never gets smaller than a minimum circumference (set by you). I will be buying this same style of collar again, but not this particular brand as it is not durable enough for my purposes. ... show more

Size: Medium (1" Width) Color: Red
Love this collar! There was quite the learning curve to figure out how to put it on correctly, but I watched a youtube video explaining it and it was pretty simple. My dog is deaf, and I was worried he would slip his collar with no recall at all. My dog can't slip out of this one. I got the red and it was thick, bright, and looks great! I haven't washed it yet, but I'm not worried. It also helped with my dog's pulling, giving me a little more control and communicating to him where I am better than a harness. ... show more
