This was very easy to install, however one screw was unable to be used due to a defect. The insulation that goes on the back of the door did not stick. I had to buy a double sided tape which is working so far. There is a small gap with the other insulation but I have some other insulation that should work to fill the gap. It is plenty big enough for my 90 lb. old man to go through.

The other reviewers that say they broke the included screws were not wrong. I broke several screws at the head with minimal force, and then I decided to just go buy some quality screws to avoid problems. It was also very difficult to get the door to seal correctly. For those having trouble sealing the door, and this should be in the instructions, you can adjust the positioning of your sliding door. There should be a screw at the bottom, that will adjust the wheels on the rail, and you can raise or lower to make an even seal with the pet door. However, the foam stripping is hard to compress and it did take some force to make a complete seal.

Ok Honestly This particular doggie door is very good for extreme weather. I have had multiple doggie doors in the past and they’re all let’s just say crappy unless you live in an area where there is no cold weather and no hot weather. Not sure where that state is but if anybody finds it, please let me know. The door was relatively easy to install. I handled it myself and I’m a 47-year-old single female. The only thing I can say is that there’s still little drafts, but I think that’s more about leveling the door out well. I did use some clear weather tape to seal off some of the area that was still seeping, cold air through I can’t rate it a 5 star because that would mean it was perfect. Nothing is perfect in life so I rated it a 4 I definitely would recommend this product!!! 🎉

We have a sliding back door and didn't want to cut out a hole on the side of the house. Found this and love it! Definitely would recommend watching other videos on installing. The instructions aren't the easiest to follow. Also, the weather stripping was crap. We went to Lowes and purchased a better quality to keep the Texas bugs out. Love the multiple flaps during the hot summer months to keep the heat out and AC in!

I wasn't ready to commit to a hole in the wall and this was a great compromise. I got the large and while it does take up significant space making it harder for me to fit through the sliding door, its amazing for the dogs to come and go as they need to, especially while I'm at work. It's done a decent job in the cold Alaska winter, I definitely lost heat through it but for the price it's pretty good! Better than I expected. I did not put in the anchors and I like the idea of being able to easily pull it out when I have guests over who might not be able to fit through the small opening left in my sliding glass door. Still works just fine.

My dogs didn’t take too long to figure it out. We were using one of those mesh screens with magnets that only lasted so long. Plus my rotten but adorable female could drag anything & everything out into the yard. The biggest thing she’s able to now is a throw pillow. It’s so convenient. We have a big fenced yard so my two boxers can go in and out as they please. Sturdy and easy to put in but can be removed if needed.
