The media could not be loaded. We put this in our door in the garage. We have a fenced-in area outside so they can't run off. Our main purpose for this was when we are away for long periods of time for the day. They can now go in and out to do their business as they please. We measured our biggest dog ahead of time per instructions before buying. The website said large would fit our dogs. I got it out of the box and thought, no way my dogs will fit thru this. We practiced before installing and they all fit! As you can see in the video, we have 2 labs and a shepherd. The shepherd is the tallest and has no problem going through. It has multiple layers for insulation (we will see how it does keeping the cold out in the winter) but hot air stays out in the summer. If I had to buy another one, I mite to go the XL just to give them a little more room, but the price difference made me stick with the large and they do fit through. Our oldest dog is the chocolate lab who is 10 and he has no problems stepping over and in/out. Installation was easy. Comes with a sheet to trace onto your door, cut and screw in. The magnets keep the flaps in place after they go through. Love this doggie door! ... show more

I have 3 of these in my house. These are sturdy, weatherproof (as weatherproof as you can have a dog door) and relatively easy to install. (Still would hire a handyman to do the door cutting of course). I wouldn't buy the cheaper brands or models because a good quality dog door is a security measure in itself. The media could not be loaded. It’s an aluminum frame, and accurate measurements. Easy installation. There is no sealing method or foam seal pad supplied. So, I would recommend using clear silicone to weather proof the outside frame. It seems to function well.

    • Key point when cutting the door!

Before you cut the hole in the door, ensure the blade on your jig/saber saw is long enough to cut thru both sides of the door on the first cut. Otherwise you will have to flip the door over and re-mark the lines to cut the opposite side of the door. Once you are ready to install the dog door frames, it is much easier to install the hold down screws if the door is standing up, rather than lying on the saw horses. Especially if you do not have someone to help. Once I got it installed it worked great and my dog had no problem learning how to go in and out! ... show more
