I have placed this pet heating pad in my cat's house outside to give them extra heat during cold nights. I appreciated the large surface area and the grey soft material. My cat's immediately started to explore this new item in their house. I also really liked the digital display that allows me to adjust the temperature and set a timer to reduce wasted electricity. Once I turned on the pad, I felt the radiant heat coming off the pad and it was not overpowering. I left the pad for about an hour and went back outside to check on it. To my surprise, both of my cats were curled up on the mat in the house and I had a hard time convincing them to come out. I also liked the chew-protected power cord and find that this will be useful for anyone who has a dog that likes to chew on things. This was a great selection on my part and I am very happy that my cats are enjoying their new heat source. In regards to the plug, the actual plug end is not chew-proof. It does plug into a standard US wall socket for the energy source.

We live in New England, and it gets cold here in winter. I have a heated blanket and I noticed that one of my kitties loves to lie with me on it. The problem is that I don't always want to have her in my room. So, I got this to put on the sofa and it works perfectly! The temperature controller is amazing. It has large numbers so it's easy for me to read and I love that I can set the temp once every 24 hours and I don't have to worry. The heat output is great. She loves being warmer at 130, especially once it snowed lol!

This review is for the “Petnimal Cat Heating Pad, 18" x 16"Heating Cat Dog Bed with Timer, Waterproof Electric Pet Heating Pad for Cats Dogs with Chew Resistant Cord, Pet Heated Mat with 10 Adjustable Temperature Auto Off.” It does come with a cover that zips up and can be removed for washing. The pad itself is plastic so it could be easily wiped down. It was packaged nice and tight so beware of opening the box with a blade as you could cut into the cover.

I live in an old house, complete with drafts and creaks and cold spots, so my cats appreciate warm spots in winter, especially since two of them are getting up in age. I set this heated bed up in a favorite spot and snapped pictures at kitty dinner time so it could actually be seen. I especially appreciate that the cord is chew proof. I haven't tried the "sanitizer" cycle yet, but am intrigued. I mostly just leave the bed on the settings it defaults to and the cats have enjoyed it. The pad is soft to the touch, but it isn't super padded. If your pets are used to a more padded bed this may take time.to get used to. This is just replacing a folded towel, so it was fine.

Well, it works. My fat black cat refuses to move from this heating mat. The fabric is nice and soft, like a microfibre/velour texture. Fortunately my cat doesn't seem to chew on cords, so the anti-bit covering on the electrical wire isn't necessary for this house, but is a very good idea. The control works fine, but the plastic screen popped off when I was removing the protective covering. Not a big deal, snapped right back into place, but wasn't expecting that. There doesn't seem to be much difference in temperature from what I can tell. It's either warm, or not, and I don't notice a distinction between the lowest 80° setting and the highest 130°. I suspect it just uses more power for the higher temps. Also not sure how much power it draws, so could wind up making an increase in the electric bill like a space heater would. The black cat LOVES it, and doesn't want to get off the warms. If she could eat her meals here, she'd never leave.

My old girls love this heating pad so much that when one gets off, the other hops on!! I appreciate the controls allowing me to change both the temperature as well as how long the pad stays warm. I don't want to overheat the girls, that's for sure, and I feel confident with this pad. I won't do that. My vet recommended heat for my older cat when she had an injury and was showing a touch of kitty arthritis (she's 13 years old), and I was so glad to have found this one because I had a fear of using my heating pad for humans she would claw it and get an electric shock. This one protects her and provides the much-needed and appreciated heat. A great product!

This item belongs to a cat that's sometimes on the wild side. It turns out that a heating pad has an excellent calming influence on him. However, he also loves to chew on cords. (During his first Christmas season, we feared he would end up like the cat in Christmas Vacation.) But the chew-resistant cord on this heating pad doesn't even tempt him so that he can be left alone for hours. He's very happy with the low heat setting, and it seems to help him relax.
