OVERALL AESTHETIC: Simple, clean, minimalist, not in any way obnoxious except I didn't like the look of the standpipe. Also, I put a favorite sticker on the front of mine to give it some character. ASSEMBLY/OPERATION/CLEANING: Easy, peasy. Total no-brainer. QUALITY: I've not had it long enough to know how long the pump will last, but the pieces seem to all be high-quality lexan that fit perfectly together. It sort of felt like I was unboxing a new iPhone if you've had that experience. NOISE: Very quiet. However, it is audible if in a quiet room and you listen for it - any pump will be. But you're only hearing the very faint hum of the pump, not any kind of waterfall. The design is such that there really is no noise from splashing water, even if using the standpipe. SPLASH: I was concerned that this might splash/spray water on the surrounding area but it does not, not even with the standpipe installed. BENEFITS: No more daily water changes because the water stays fresh longer. I have one cat so I do a water change and cleaning once per week and swap out the filter once every two weeks. Elevated food and water bowls are recommended for cats and this is the perfect height for most any cat to stand and drink or sit and drink (without hunching over which can give them the kitty version of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, or, GERD). SCAREDY CATS: I have one and I made the mistake of just swapping out for the old one. She was terrified of it at first so I had to proceed carefully. Here's what I recommend for a scaredy cat. Assemble according to directions but do NOT plug it in or add the standpipe yet. Just put it next to their old water bowl and keep both old and new filled for a day or two like there are just two water bowls there. After a day or two when they've gotten used to its presence, remove the old water bowl. After you seem them drinking from the new "bowl," plug it in WITHOUT the stand pipe and just let it bubble. Then if after that you want to add the standpipe, do it. FINAL THOUGHT: This is the first/only pet fountain I've ever owned. I looked at everyone on this site and read all the reviews. I am incredibly pleased with my purchase. Now, if the pump craps out within a year, I'll be back here to update this! I know it won't last forever. But, so far, so good!

I really love this fountain. I have 12 cats (don't judge me, it was an accident. And I'm NOT addicted, I can stop anytime). I wanted them to have moving water to drink from since they all enjoy that but didn't know what fountain to buy - so I bought several different types. This one has been the best so far. It is one of the easiest to clean - not a lot of nooks and crannies in it that are difficult to get to. I have had it for 5 months so far and the pump is still working (24/7) and still making no noise. It has a large capacity, though with so many cats (even though there are several fountains around the house) I do have to put some water in it every day - they are all thirsty little buggers. I clean it about once a week to once every 2 weeks. It's fairly easy to tell when it wants cleaning, though, because the spigot will start running slower when the pump is getting clogged. I kind of wish it had a little LED light with the pump like some of the others (no good reason, it certainly doesn't need one, but I'm all about flash and glitter. What can I say?) The cats like being able to drink directly from the spigot as it comes out or drink from the water sitting in the tray. Unlike one or two people have mentioned, I have so far had no problem getting replacement filters (I order them from Amazon so maybe they were looking to buy them from a different source). Hopefully, that will continue to be the case. All in all, a happy purchase. UPDATE: My cats and I still love this fountain BUT we don’t love the “improvement” PetNF has made to the pump. I wanted to add another one of these fountains to my home so I ordered a second one. Since my first purchase PetNF has apparently “upgraded” the pump that they include with the fountain. It has a light (something I said I would have liked with the old one but this is a case of “be careful what you wish for”) but it also has a very undesirable feature. The new pump contains a black sponge filter at the front of the pump – not a bad idea perhaps but it’s just another thing that should be replaced over time as it degrades or becomes too dirty to rinse out properly. Unfortunately, it is impossible to find a replacement sponge. No one sells it - not even PetNF. I contacted them and was told they do not have them for sale. When I wrote to them about it, their response was (I copied this directly from their answering email) "We do not sell the black sponge separately. If there is any problem with the pump, we will send you a new one directly." I don't know if this means they are willing to send me a new pump every time the black sponge wears out (SOMEHOW I don't THINK so) so I'm not sure how they feel you are to proceed once your sponge becomes unusable beyond purchasing a whole new pump for $21.99. This was not a good product decision. You can, however, replace the pump entirely with an alternate pump that works with this fountain. It has no light in it but it also has no sponge. It is also not as costly as the PetNF replacement pump. At this writing (2022) it costs $9.99. I absolutely love the fountain itself. The clear design and intent work perfectly, and my cat loves the trickling water that he can easily tell is clean. The unit was easy to put together and very easy to clean. When it is full, it is very quiet. When it starts to empty, you'll hear a telltale trickling water sound to signal that you should fill the unit back up before it goes below max water line. The Cons: The replacement products for this unit are expensive. When cleaning the unit after 3-4 months my pump died. I expected the replacement cost to be reasonable. However, the for the cost of one inferior pump I could have purchased a new water fountain. The pump replacement should not cost half of the cost of the original fountain. Otherwise, you would be buying a new fountain before 6 months just in replacements, and that doesn't financially make sense. I will say that after leaving my review Customer Service did reach out and let me know there was a warranty on the product, and that if I wanted I could get a replacement filter or refund. So, I will give them some stars back for effort. My recommendation: When you go to buy a replacement look for aquarium grade pumps that are far cheaper, come in multipacks, and last much longer. Check their reviews for the quality and length of time the pump lasts. You'll have to adjust the strength of the pump so the stream isn't gushing, but trust me your wallet will thank me later. I did this and haven't had any problems since and don't see myself needing anything other than filter replacements for the next year. Overall, amazing system. Bottom line, get your pumps elsewhere.

I waited to write a review so I could give a full evaluation. I love this. I’ve bought every other cat water fountain/dispenser known and nothing worked. My cats either played in the other fountains or ignored them all together. My geriatric cat LOVES water from the bathroom sink or tub to the point of making me crazy. She was relentless, crying in the middle of the night for the faucet to be turned on. This is a life saver. Super easy to assemble, small, it doesn’t tip over and she loves it. It’s easy to clean. Just use your clean hands running it under warm water, wiping any slime away each week. Replace the filter once a week. It’s quiet too. It’s in my bedroom & I never hear it. It’s the only one that truly resembles a real faucet! Game changer- buy it & a pack of filters- you’ll be happy you did.

I bought 3 of this item. ( 2 from a different site) My kids are still using it up to now. Easy to clean and love that the light turns red when water is low, even though it is easy to see since it is clear. Anyway, highly recommended. Good quality product.

So... I have two Euro Norwegian Forrister and Main Coon Mix cats.. they are big boys from the same litter.. if you know those breeds... basically their coat is waterproof.. They love water.. 3-ish years ago- give or take.. I bought this same fountain. Loved it. The kittens loved it. They play with the water fall spout quiet alot.. Then I moved across the world again.. and I suppose somewhere when shipping my things the moter of the old one finally stopped working.. so I decided to buy a new one since the kittens don't really care for a traditional water bowl cause they are too posh for that.. lol Didn't expect any difference really... got the blue one instead because well.. I didn't remember them having that before.. Didn't expect any changes.. The changes! So in the photo of both on the table; The top one is the old one, ignore the grime.. The bottom Blue one is New.. the blue one has a single hole vs the pokadots of the top one. Other than that... in the photo of the back lid and spouts, you can also see where- in the old one on the left, there is a large cut out.. in the new blue one on the right there is a tiny sculpted cut out... that makes a HUGE difference seeing as it is the hole for the cord and with the old one you could just spill water out of it if you were not careful.. BUT... That Motor though... This is where they show true improvement.. The Motor on the left- the smaller gross one, is the old one and the bigger one on the right is the new one.. now the old one... it wasn't terrible and was a trooper.. I have very fluffy cats with long fur.. I remember it stopping about once a month or more and needing to be fully cleaned.. not horrible and has lasted a long time.. The NEW one though.. it now houses a filter sponge which.. is awesome.. and it has a light indicator for water levels on the back.. seems just as easy if not easier to clean because of the filter but this is a really cool improvement.. Now I'm not sure if this is simply because I got the blue one for like 2 dollars more but it seems to be a pretty significant upgrade and I very much appreciate it. These are functional upgrades for the sake of the user and I appreciate when companies do that.. it shows that they listen.. or at least, improve things.. Otherwise, it's dead silent, say for the occasional water drip here or there.. which is mindless.. you don't notice it, and it tends to act just like the old one.. or any other water fountain.. can't yet speak for the longevity of the new blue one but.. seems improved so.. that's awesome.. If you have a medium or small size pet.. this one is nice. Gives them a decent pool up top and houses a larger amount of water than most.. They have two ways of drinking.. or playing (the spout or the bowl).. the plastic is nice, I've found the other styles of plastic- the gray fountain ones- those corrode and stay corroded.. it like- eats away at the plastic and looks terrible. This one does not! Any of the grime you see on the old one can easily be washed away.. it's just a better plastic I suppose.. I've even put the old one in the dishwasher before and it's been fine.. Both old and new came with a pipe cleaner and filters which is nice. So in conclusion, if you're thinking of buying a Fountain for your pet. This one has my approval.. DO IT.. (Not sponsered- though I feel lame needing to state that..) lol

Worked for about 7 months. Had to take the pump apart about once a month to clean, not a big deal. Then it finally stopped working altogether. The replacement pump costs almost as much as a new unit. UPDATE: Vendor responded to this review and sent us a new pump. Appreciate their follow up and am hoping for the best.

TLDR: New pump died less than 4 months of purchasing, vs the previous model which lasted 2.5 years. If you're considering buying this pump, you already know the system when working is great, but be wary of purchasing a replacement if your previous pump lasted a considerable amount of time. We purchased a PETNF water fountain filter system originally December 2021, and were quite happy with it. Around June of 2023 (2.5 years after the original purchase) the motor died out, which for the amount of time it lasted, we weren't overly upset. We were excited to see that there was a motor as a newer model (the one I am leaving a review on), despite the inability to purchase replacement sponges. We took this into consideration that we should be cleaning this newer model at least the recommended 2 weeks (previous model we probably cleaned every 3-4 weeks, which wasn't as often as recommended). We made our purchase July 2023, just less than 4 months ago. We liked the updated model initially, the small light was a nice added feature to keep us in check to make sure the water was filled up constantly (which it never actually came to for us, because we filled it up daily, but could prove valuable to others), as well as visibility of the unit at night when walking around in the dark kitchen. Yesterday we noticed the water was barely trickling out of the spigot (we have the attached spigot that creates the downward stream, vs the "bubbling up" option without the spigot), even though we had just cleaned the entire unit carefully (as usual) only a few days before. Between cleaning it and the unit suddenly trickling, it was working totally fine, so we are not under the belief that us cleaning it was the cause of it acting up. Once we noticed, we took it apart to clean it again, and there was nothing needing to be cleaned. Upon plugging it back in, it is no longer pumping at all. The blue light to indicate the water level is still working, which indicates it is receiving power, but the pump is no longer making any noise as it usually would, leading us to believe it is just dead. It's hard to say whether or not we received a defective unit, as the previous older model lasted longer than we expected it would, or if the newer models are just not built as well as the older ones. Either way, we are quite disappointed in the lifespan of this newer unit, especially considering the price point of it being just slightly under the same cost of buying a new tank with pump and parts. If there was a way I could contact the manufacturer to see if they would be willing to resolve the issue, I would have held off on leaving my review, but I do not see where to do that myself, and I am not hopeful they will attempt to reach out on their own accord. Without an outlet to resolve the issue, I am suspicious that these newer models are less durable by design, and a company trying to push additional sales through replacements, on an otherwise great system which my pets loved. Morale of the story: The lifespan of your motor may vary, its hard to say with certainty whether my pump was defective leading to the shorter lifespan, or if the updated model was designed to fail sooner than later. This product was worthy of a recommendation prior to this experience with a less than 4 month old purchase as new. I will be looking into alternatives vs going with PETNF again, unless I am contacted very soon.
