When this item arrived, I saw that one of the gas feed pipes was pinched closed blocking gas flow. I have attached a photo of the crimped gas piping. You can see what appears to be a manufacturer’s serial number on the piping at that point. I let Amazon know and they promptly took care of the refund. ... show more

Burner works well and looks great with the log set I purchased. Thermal couple went bad on it a few days after I installed it. Emailed company about a replacement part. Never got a reply. Terrible customer service. Over all would buy the product again... Just not from this seller.

Im not even sure if I got all the parts. What is included is cheap junk that caused a fire because the included copper and metal line had a hole in it. I would avoid this product at all costs.

I own and operate a gas fireplace/log repair service. Have been in the industry 25 years. So let me clear some things up on these reviews. First i give it 4 stars because the seller has it listed incorrectly. All Peterson burners can burn either propane or natural gas. the parts you need to switch gas are included in the box. The real diiference in nat & lp is the pan media. Sand for nat & vermiculite for lp. This is a Peterson G45 burner & grate bundled with a Peterson SPK-26 valve kit. The was the top of line industry standard for vented logs sets for 20 years. Paired with a set of Peterson logs. This set is simple works well and will last 20 years easy. i work on 20yr old ones all the time. At this price it is a bargain. Twice that in your local hearth shop. I have already installed 6 of these this season for clients that purchased them. This guy owes me a sales commission LOL. Now lets clear up the reviews Assembly of parts in box. I STRONGLY recommend professional assembly & installation. The instructions are meant for the pro with experience Not the novice. Peterson does a good job of including almost everything you need in the box. There are a few fittings pieces you need to complete depending on your gas connection. If you value your eyebrows and are not handy listen to this advice Sooting. The person who wrote the review about improper burn & soot. This review is by someone that does not know what they are talking about. This log set is supposed to soot. It is a vented set designed to imitate a real wood fire. It soots it smells the damper must be open. Just like if you were burning a real wood fire. Also his description tells me it is not set up correctly. Not enough sand & embers to damp the gas flow. Paint smell or burn in time. Yes Peterson logs are hand cast & air brushed finish. They do smell when first installed. They require several hours & multiple burns to what we call CURE IN. I hope that person had the flu damper fully open during the burn in period. The smell will dissipate after some use. Hope that clears some things up for people reading these reviews trying to decide whether to buy or not. In my professional opinion you can buy this burner system paired with some matching logs for under 1k. retail in a shop &1500-2000 plus install. This is a bargain all day long on some genuine Peterson products made in the USA ... show more
