UPDATE: After 6 months of using this fountain I can’t figure out how to keep it fungus free. I use distilled water only and an algeacide to prevent build up. However the pump stopped working due to build up (easy enough to clean) but the worst part is the clear lip that the glass ball sits on is caked with slime white fungus that I can’t get off or remove because it’s in these hard to reach crevices. ______________________________________________ I get compliments ALL the time on this!! My ONLY complaint is that there is no on/off switch on the power cord, so in order to turn it off at the end of my work day (as it’s in my office) I have to crawl under my desk and unplug it from the wall. It’s as big as I wanted it to be, which was actually bigger than I expected it to be! I was worried the fountain would be kind of small considering the low price. It’s fairly easy enough to assemble, just slide the LED light up the tube, insert the water pump into the tube, and submerge the pump under the water. The rock sculpture is kind of an odd size compared to the base opening, it doesn’t line up perfectly to size, but it really doesn’t matter because it just sits on top, just threw me off a little when I was trying to put it together. It has 3 power levels, but the two lowest levels aren’t strong enough to roll the glass marble really. The strongest level is nice and you can actually hear the water moving. If you can hear the water pump then your pump is not fully submerged and you’ll need to add more water. It’s a nice little fountain though! I have it on my desk at work, I added some polished rocks to it, but honestly it looks fine without them even. ... show more

My husband really likes this. It goes great in the home office. It was very easy to put together and set up. The cord is a good length for us, and the lit ball looks nice and in the dark makes a little design on the ceiling. Tip: fill with water and don't set the ball on top until it's running on its own. Otherwise, the power of the water going to the top isn't enough to get the ball rolling. But once the water is running, the ball rolls easily and all is well. I have two complains... this thing goes through water. I presume it's evaporating, so I'm not sure if this would be any different with any other fountain, but we've gone through 3/4 a gallon of water in under two weeks. I have to add water at least every other day. It's under a window, but that window is shaded and doesn't get direct sunlight. I started out buying gallons of distilled water, but it may be worth it to get a brita pitcher and fill it from that. Secondly, the only way to turn it off is to unplug it. I wish there was a switch near the fountain itself, because our only outlets are near the floor and under the desk. So that's a nuisance. FYI, the fountain doesn't come with decorative rocks to set in the bottom section, but looks way better with them. If you are gifting this, I highly recommend also getting decorative stones. ... show more

First, it came on time, xlnt. I buy a lot on-line and most things come packaged well. This was, without a doubt, the best packaging....ever! Styrofoam, you gotta' love it, right? I'm still laughing. It's so magnetic, it took longer to get the little pieces that came off, and immediately onto....me, than it did to put the fountain together! No real problem tho', better than finding a broken piece of the fountain itself. Not hard to put together. A little longer than other people may have since my hands have RA. Holding and fitting together anything can be a PITA. I got it done and it's working just fine. I do like the fact that the cord is long enough to position it where I wanted it and still reach a plug in. I used filtered water and will watch it closely today to see just how often I have to add to it and keep it over the pump in the bowl. Don't know if the pump is on 'fast; or 'slower'. Either way, this speed seems to work just fine so I'll probably leave it at the speed it is. The ball on top is really quite pretty and moves. Sometimes I have to tweak it so it will turn a little more fluidly, but all in all it's fascinating to watch. It is, surprisingly, calming. I'm satisfied and I think I'll look for some small rocks for the bottom area. I might use my stash of crystals, not sure, maybe mix them with some rocks too. The media could not be loaded. Very nice! Very happy! I cannot hear the motor whatsoever, completely silent except for water sound. Read other brand fountain reviews unhappy with motor noise. This one is just great.

    • Decent, but pump gets too weak to support the orb and it doesn't actually attach to the basin

It's a decent little fountain, but after about 3 months the pump has become weak. It is supposed to pump hard enough to keep the orb rotating, and the water escapes around the orb. However, after a few months the pump strength will weaken to where it can no longer lift the orb enough, so the orb just sits and partially plugs the hole. Additionally, while there are what seem like screw holes in the basin, there are no holes in the fountain top (rock-looking part) or screws themselves to adhere it to the basin. Thus, those small protrusions you can see in others pictures (three of them I think) are all that the thing sits on. So it can be easily knocked over sideways and spill the water either partially (from the top slumping over in the basin) or entirely tip the basin. So DO NOT place this on a desk or it will SPILL ON ELECTRONICS. Your cat/dog may also knock it over. ... show more
