It provides a complete diet for kittens that have been orphaned or rejected as well as supplemental feeding for nursing and post-weaned kittens. Show cats and seniors can also take this as a supplement for an easy-to-digest source of nutrients. This powdered milk replacer supplies the milk proteins and taurine kittens need along with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to support healthy growth and development. Every purchase comes with one 28-ounce canister of Kitten Milk Replacer Powder Formula. Directions for Mixing: Gently stir or shake one part powdered KMR into two parts warm water (a part may be a teaspoon, tablespoon, or cup). Do not mix more KMR than can be consumed in 24 hours. Do not use a blender. Reconstituted KMR should be kept refrigerated. One 6 oz. can of powder makes approximately 30 oz. of liquid when mixed 1:2. One 12 oz. can of powder makes approximately 60 oz. of liquid when mixed 1:2. One 28 oz. can of powder makes approximately 140 oz. of liquid when mixed 1:2. One 5 lb. bag makes approximately 400 oz. when mixed 1:2. Directions for Feeding: All kittens should receive their mother’s milk for at least 2 days, if possible. Colostrum milk gives extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some infections. Warm reconstituted KMR to room or body temperature before serving. Feed kittens 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of liquid KMR per 4 oz. (115 g) of body weight daily. The daily feeding amount should be divided into equal portions for each feeding. Kittens' needs will vary and this amount may have to be increased or decreased, depending on the individual. Young and/or weak kittens should be fed every 3 to 4 hours.
