It was really important to me to be able to keep my blinds in the window, and I couldn’t find any retractable shades that installed into the sides of the inner window frame while keeping the blinds too. Oh well. I ordered these in the exact size of my window frame width, hoping I might be able to install them inside, but since they only mount from the top or back, I ended up installing them outside of the frame. However, I do think I like this better. They look a lot more blended in than I expected - you can hardly notice it’s a separate assembly. I even kept the valence for the blinds back there. The installation was very easy, and the shade seems to be well made. It retracts smoothly, and is easy to operate both up and down. My one and only complaint is that it does sit a bit far off of the wall, so there’s quite a gap where the light comes through, even with the blinds completely closed. But it’s a lot darker than it was without the shade (I did not want to give up those curtains, even though they are not blackout), so overall I’m very happy with the result and my toddler is finally napping again! ... show more

I believe it took me longer to get situated to installand gather , tape and screw gun than it did to install ! I actually bought a second set now! 6 screws and they pretty much click in with a spring loaded locker! Same way to remove you just push in and they release! Instantly could tell the sun blocking other than Abit on the edges! My only curiosity is how long they will last for sun fade or wear! Great so far!! ... show more
